De mitrailleurKAZEMAT IX uit 1933 bevindt zich op het uiteinde van de zuid-westelijke havendam en heeft een afmeting van 21 x 16,5 m. Rondom de kazemat is een zware borstwering aangebracht met hierin drie mitrailleurnesten, voorzien van afsluitbare munitie-nissen voor de mitrailleur in open opstelling. De kazemat is aan de onderzijde voorzien van beschermingsmuren om het doordringen van projectielen onder de vloerplaat te voorkomen. Gezien de ligging van de kazemat was het aanbrengen van een rabat niet mogelijk.
Het trechtervormige, getrapte en van spoorstaven voorziene schietgat is gericht op de binnenhaven en het gebied voor de brug. Het schietgat is tegenwoordig dichtgemetseld. De toegang tot de kazemat bevindt zich aan de westzijde samen met een stalen ladder naar het dak. Het dak is voorzien van mastiek en langs de rand steken stalen stekeinden uit het beton ten behoeve van camouflagenetten; langs de borstwering loopt een metalen reling. De kazemat heeft een groen, gele en witte camouflage-beschildering.

Description
The machine-gun CASEMATE IX from 1933 is located at the end of the south-western harbour dam and measures 21 x 16.5 m. Around the casemate is a heavy breastwork with three machine-gun nests, provided with lockable ammunition niches for the machine-gun in open emplacement. The casemate is provided on the underside with protective walls to prevent projectiles from penetrating beneath the floor slab. Given the location of the casemate, the installation of a rabat was not possible.
The funnel-shaped, stepped gun port provided with track rails is directed at the inner harbour and the area before the bridge. The gun port is now bricked up. Access to the casemate is on the west side together with a steel ladder to the roof. The roof is provided with mastic and along the edge steel studs protrude from the concrete for camouflage nets; along the breastwork runs a metal railing. The casemate has green, yellow and white camouflage painting.
