KAZEMAT III uit 1932 bevindt zich onder het brugwachtersgebouw tussen de twee rijstroken van de autosnelweg en heeft een afmeting van 14,3 x 16 m. De kazemat had geen bewapening en deed dienst als hulpverbandplaats. In de kazemat bevindt zich een aggregaat, een Kromhout-Gardner machine die in geval van stroomuitval de sluizen moest bedienen. Dit aggregaat is nog steeds inzetbaar.
INTERIEUR: de kazemat is toegankelijk middels een trap achter het brugwachtersgebouw en bevat: een waterreservoir, een hulppost, een machinekamer, een oliebergplaats en een nooduitgang. De onderbouw van het brugwachtersgebouw stamt nog uit 1934, de bovenbouw en het interieur van het tijdens de oorlog zwaar beschadigde gebouw zijn van na WO II. De kazemat is volledig verzonken in de dijk. De stalen toegangsluiken van de ingang en nooduitgang zijn van na WO II.

Description
CASEMATE III from 1932 is located beneath the bridge-keeper's building between the two lanes of the motorway and has dimensions of 14.3 x 16 m. The casemate had no armament and served as an aid post. In the casemate is an aggregation unit, a Kromhout-Gardner machine which in case of power failure had to operate the locks. This aggregation unit is still operational.
INTERIOR: the casemate is accessible by means of a staircase behind the bridge-keeper's building and contains: a water reservoir, a first aid post, a machine room, an oil storage area and an emergency exit. The substructure of the bridge-keeper's building dates from 1934, the superstructure and interior of the building, which was severely damaged during the war, are from after World War II. The casemate is completely sunk into the dike. The steel access hatches of the entrance and emergency exit are from after World War II.

Casemate III from the Kornwerderzand Position is of general cultural-historical, military-historical and architectural-historical importance:
