The register's description

Inleiding

- vanwege de ontlening aan de Neo-Gotiek toegepast bij een overigens traditioneel en utilitair gebouwtje;

- als belangrijk onderdeel van het totale pastoriecomplex;

- vanwege de afwijkende oriëntatie, die ter plaatse wordt bepaald door de lokale situatie van grachten rondom de pastorie, grenzend aan het kerkhof;

- vanwege de hoogwaardige kwaliteit van de bebouwing en de historisch-ruimtelijke relatie met de tuin en de waterlopen;

- vanwege de redelijke mate van architectonische gaafheid.

Introduction

The COACH HOUSE behind the parsonage was presumably built at the same time as the parsonage in 1861, in a traditional craftsman style, with a borrowing from Neo-Gothic (pointed arch window). The coach house has been extended at the rear with an outbuilding, now used as timber storage. This extension is of secondary importance for national heritage protection. The coach house has direct access via the rear moat of the parsonage; the concrete bridge is of secondary importance for protection. The original arrangement of the front facade with double doors and hayloft door has been replaced by a cavity panel (half-brick) and a metal tilting door under a concrete lintel.

Description

The coach house has a rectangular floor plan and is built on a clay-straw base, finished with a course of tiles. The facades are built in brown brick. The building is two storeys high and has a projecting gabled roof covered with red, unglazed Dutch tiles. The wind braces above the double doors are decorated with a sawn S-shape; the wind braces on the rear side are flat. The corbels on both sides are simple.

The front facade is built in stretcher bond (brick).

In the eastern side facade, built in half-brick bond; one nine-light window and wall anchors.

In the rear facade, built in stretcher bond (brick); on the upper storey a pointed arch window.

In the western side facade, built in half-brick bond; a nine-light window and a fixed door, both under a straight lintel; wall anchors.

Valuation

The coach house, presumably built in 1861, in a traditional craftsman style, with a borrowing from Neo-Gothic (pointed arch window), is of general architectural-historical importance:

- because of the borrowing from Neo-Gothic applied to an otherwise traditional and utilitarian building;

- as an important component of the overall parsonage complex;

- because of the unusual orientation, which at this location is determined by the local situation of moats around the parsonage, bordering on the churchyard;

- because of the high quality of the building and the historical-spatial relationship with the garden and watercourses;

- because of a reasonable degree of architectural integrity.
