Inleiding
Het VERENIGINGSGEBOUW, "St. Jozef", is 'met het oog op de behoefte der jongelieden' in 1903 gebouwd in Nieuwe Historiserende trant. De grote rondboogvensters in de westgevel zijn recentelijk vernieuwd.
Omschrijving
Pand van één bouwlaag op rechthoekige plattegrond, opgetrokken in rode baksteen onder een samengesteld zadeldak met leidekking. De gevels worden ingedeeld met overwegend vensters met kleine roedenverdeling en afgesloten door een overstekende gootlijst op klossen.
Symmetrische voorgevel (noord) met hoge, in blokken gepleisterde plint. Centraal een hoog opgaand risaliet onder steekkap, geflankeerd door twee plat afgedekte entreeportalen met dubbele deuren met halfronde bovenlichten onder rondbogen op zuiltjes. In de risaliet een groot rondboogvenster met aan weerszijden een achtruits venster. Voor de oostgevel een plat afgedekte aanbouw. In het INTERIEUR is de zaal met toneelpodium uit de bouwtijd, een gepleisterd spiegelgewelf en een schouw bewaard gebleven.
Waardering
Het verenigingsgebouw met bijbehorende interieuronderdelen is van algemeen belang vanwege de cultuurhistorische en architectuurhistorische waarde te weten de oorspronkelijke functie en de Nieuw Historiserende bouwstijl van met name de voorgevel aan het plein.
Het pand heeft in hoge mate stedenbouwkundige waarde vanwege de beeldbepalende situering aan het plein bij de St. Bonifatiuskerk en als onderdeel van het kerkelijke complex.

Building of one storey on a rectangular plan, constructed in red brick under a composite gabled roof with lead covering. The facades are divided with predominantly windows with small glazing bars and terminated by a projecting gutter cornice on brackets.
Symmetrical front facade (north) with a tall, plastered plinth in blocks. Centrally a tall projecting risalit under a pitched roof, flanked by two flat-topped entrance portals with double doors with semi-circular fanlights under round arches on small columns. In the risalit a large round-arch window with on either side a 6-paned window. In front of the east facade a flat-topped annex. In the INTERIOR the hall with stage from the original construction period, a plastered coved ceiling and a chimney have been preserved.
Valuation
