Inleiding
Ten westen van gemaal Leemans gesitueerde SCHUTSLUIS met brug uit 1929, ten behoeve van de scheepvaart tussen de Zuiderhaven en de Oeversche Vaart.
Omschrijving
Schutsluis bestaande uit een rechthoekige, noord-zuid gerichte bak uitgevoerd in gewapend beton met randen afgewerkt in graniet. De kademuren hebben onderaan en op de bovenzijde ijzeren aanlegpunten voor schepen. De sluis heeft elektrisch gestuurde rinketten en twee paar houten sluisdeuren. Het noordelijke paar sluisdeuren draagt het jaartal 1929. Over de sluis ligt een platte brug in gewapend beton met eenvoudige ijzeren reling.
Waardering
De schutsluis is van algemeen belang wegens cultuur- en architectuurhistorische waarde als historisch-functioneel onderdeel van het complex Leemans.

Description
Lock consisting of a rectangular, north-south oriented tank executed in reinforced concrete with edges finished in granite. The quay walls have iron mooring points at the bottom and top for ships. The lock has electrically controlled winches and two pairs of wooden lock gates. The northern pair of lock gates bears the date 1929. Over the lock lies a flat bridge in reinforced concrete with simple iron railing.
Valuation
The lock is of general importance due to cultural and architectural historical value as a historical-functional component of the Leemans complex.
