Omschrijving
Vrijstaand HEILIG HARTBEELD vervaardigd in 1933 door de GEBR. THISSEN EN ZN/FA JOS, maakt deel uit van het kerkcomplex St. Martinus'. Het natuurstenen beeld is geplaatst op een samengestelde, donkerrode bakstenen sokkel aan de oostzijde van de kerk, aan de westzijde van de St. Jansgildestraat te Beek, in de gemeente Bergh. Het terrein van het kerkcomplex wordt aan de St. Jansgildestraat begrensd door een expresionistisch vormgegeven ijzeren hekwerk, dat het Heilig Hartbeeld als het ware in een plantsoen plaatst.
De sokkel bestaat uit in- en uitspringende onderdelen met een geïntegreerde bloemenbak, steeds afgesloten door een rollaag. Het onderstel van de bakstenen sokkel is opgetrokken in halfsteens verband. De bovenzijde is opgetrokken in boven elkaar geplaatste strekse rollagen. Op de sokkel is in natuursteen een staande Christusfiguur geplaatst op een vierkante natuurstenen voet met daarop een halve bol. Aan de oostzijde van het voetstuk bevindt zich de tekst KOMT ALLEN TOT MIJ'. De staande Christusfiguur met baard, halflang haar en gespreide armen is gekleed in een tunica met pallium. Op de borst is in relief het Heilig Hart afgebeeld als een brandend, door een kruisje bekroond hart, als symbool van goddelijke liefde.

Freestanding SACRED HEART IMAGE created in 1933 by the GEBR. THISSEN EN ZN/FA JOS, forms part of the church complex St. Martinus'. The natural stone image is placed on a composite dark-red brick plinth on the east side of the church, on the west side of the St. Jansgildestraat in Beek, in the municipality of Bergh. The grounds of the church complex are bounded at the St. Jansgildestraat by an expressionistically designed iron fence, which places the Sacred Heart Image as it were in a planted area.
The plinth consists of projecting and recessed elements with an integrated flowerbed, always closed off by a roller course. The understructure of the brick plinth is constructed in half-bond. The top is constructed in stretcher courses placed one above the other. On the plinth is placed a standing figure of Christ in natural stone on a square natural stone base with above it a hemisphere. On the east side of the pedestal is the text 'COME UNTO ME'. The standing figure of Christ with beard, shoulder-length hair and outstretched arms is dressed in a tunic with pallium. On the breast is depicted in relief the Sacred Heart as a burning heart crowned by a cross, as a symbol of divine love.
