Inleiding
Het KERKHOF met CRUCIFIX, PRIESTERGRAF, BAARHUISJE en HEKWERK ligt ten zuiden van de pastorietuin en sluit hier op aan. Eind 1865 werd het KERKHOF aangelegd, maar het was nog niet voltooid toen de bouwpastoor Wennekers overleed (februari 1866). Het grondwerk voor de begraafplaats werd uitgevoerd door G.A. Heidstra uit Heerenveen. In juni 1866 werd het kerkhof gewijd en werd Wennekers er herbegraven. Tijdens het pastoraat van Harmanus Harbers (pastoor 1866-1878) werd uit de opbrengsten van de 'verkoop tot sloop' van de pastorie van de oude statie in de Jornahuisterpolder, in 1876 op het kerkhof een baarhuisje gebouwd. Eén priestergraf is beschermd van rijkswege, de overige priestergraven en grafstenen van de parochianen zijn van lokaal historisch en genealogisch belang.
Omschrijving
Het KERKHOF is een rechthoekig perceel omgeven door een ligusterhaag en bomen. Rond het grafperk ligt een grindpad. Aan de oostzijde van het kerkhof staat een gietijzeren CRUCIFIX op een beraapt bakstenen voetstuk met een koepelachtige afsluiting en hardstenen hoekblokken. Tussen de gepleisterde hoekpilasters aan de vier zijden zijn hardstenen panelen met opschriften ontleend aan de Bijbelboeken Job 19:25 en Boek 2 van de Maccabeeën 12:46 en een opschrift dat betrekking heeft op het crucifix: "Het is Christus' beeld, aanbidt het niet, maar aanbidt Hem wiens beeld gij ziet." Het crucifix is samengesteld uit een kruis van plaatijzer waarop bevestigd het corpus, een schedel met gekruiste knekels en een rol met het opschrift INRI, alles in gietijzer.
Voor het crucifix ligt het PRIESTERGRAF van G.H. Berndes, overleden 1897. Het ogenschijnlijk monoliete grafmonument heeft het model van een sarcofaag met een 'deksel' in de vorm van een dak van een kruiskerk. Op de 'nok' een kruis met aan ieder uiteinde een vierpas met een evangelistensymbool en op het kruispunt een medaillon met de voorstelling van het Lam Gods en het randschrift: Ecce Agnus Stabat Supra Montem. Aan het voeteneind van de sarcofaag een opengerolde boekrol met een grafschrift in Neo-Romaanse letters en emblemen.
Aan de zuidzijde van het kerkhof is een BAARHUISJE opgetrokken in kruisverband met bruine bakstenen met een knipvoeg. Het is een eenvoudig rechthoekig gebouw met zadeldak zonder goot, gedekt met gesmoorde Friese pannen. Aan de noord- en zuidzijde zijn twee ijzeren, halfronde ramen onder een rollaag. In de westgevel een dubbele opgeklampte deur. Aan de hoek van het baarhuisje is het smeedijzeren HEK bevestigd, dat de begraafplaats afsluit. Het hek bestaat uit gietijzeren, gecanneleerde zuilen als hekstijlen bekroond met een pijnappel. De hekken zijn ingezwenkt, hebben aan de bovenzijde een rand van klaverbladen en zijn aan de onderzijde versterkt door gekruiste banden met een rozet op het knooppunt. De buitenvleugels van het hekwerk zijn vast. Het dubbele draaihek heeft op de naald een bol met kruis.
Waardering
Het kerkhof met crucifix uit 1866, baarhuisje en hekwerk uit 1876 en het priestergraf uit 1897 zijn van algemeen cultuurhistorisch belang:

The CEMETERY with CRUCIFIX, PRIEST'S GRAVE, MORTUARY CHAPEL and IRONWORK lies south of the parsonage garden and adjoins it here. At the end of 1865 the CEMETERY was laid out, but it was not yet completed when the building parish priest Wennekers died (February 1866). The groundwork for the cemetery was carried out by G.A. Heidstra from Heerenveen. In June 1866 the cemetery was consecrated and Wennekers was reburied there. During the pastorate of Harmanus Harbers (parish priest 1866-1878), from the proceeds of the 'sale for demolition' of the parsonage of the old chapel in the Jornahuisterpolder, a mortuary chapel was built on the cemetery in 1876. Description
The CEMETERY is a rectangular plot surrounded by a privet hedge and trees. Around the burial ground runs a gravel path. On the east side of the cemetery stands a cast-iron CRUCIFIX on a rendered brick base with a dome-like top and stone corner blocks. Between the plastered corner pilasters on four sides are stone panels with inscriptions taken from the Biblical books Job 19:25 and Book 2 of the Maccabees 12:46 and an inscription relating to the crucifix: "It is Christ's image, do not worship it, but worship Him whose image you see." The crucifix is composed of a cross of sheet iron on which is fixed the corpus, a skull with crossed bones and a scroll with the inscription INRI, all in cast iron.
Before the crucifix lies the PRIEST'S GRAVE of G.H. Berndes, died 1897. The apparently monolithic grave monument has the model of a sarcophagus with a 'lid' in the form of a roof of a cruciform church. On the 'ridge' a cross with at each end a quatrefoil with an evangelist's symbol and at the intersection a medallion with the representation of the Lamb of God and the inscription: Ecce Agnus Stabat Supra Montem. On the south side of the cemetery a MORTUARY CHAPEL is constructed in English bond with brown brick with cut mortar joints. It is a simple rectangular building with a gabled roof without gutters, covered with smoored Frisian tiles. On the north and south sides are two iron, half-round windows under a roll moulding. In the west facade a double clamped door. At the corner of the mortuary chapel is the wrought-iron IRONWORK affixed, which encloses the cemetery. The ironwork consists of cast-iron, fluted columns as fence posts crowned with a pine cone. The fences are splayed, have at the top a border of trefoils and are reinforced at the bottom by crossed bands with a rosette at the knot. The outer wings of the ironwork are fixed. The double swing gate has on the pivot a ball with cross.
Evaluation
The cemetery with crucifix from 1866, mortuary chapel and ironwork from 1876 and the priest's grave from 1897 are of general cultural-historical importance:
