Inleiding
De Pondskoekersluis is een SCHUTSLUIS, gelegen in de Kerkvaart waar deze aansluit op de Kromme Mijdrecht. De sluis ontsluit de vaarwegen in de Polder Groot Mijdrecht. De sluis is aangelegd tussen 1850 en 1900. De draaibrug vormde oorspronkelijk de enige verbinding over dit deel van de Kerkvaart. De sluisdeuren worden sedert 1998, toen een restauratie plaatsvond, niet meer met de hand bediend, maar elektrisch.
Omschrijving
De nabij De Hoef gelegen schutsluis bestaat uit bakstenen kolkwanden met op constructief belangrijke plaatsen natuursteen of beton. De dekzerkprofielen zijn met ijzer versterkt en voorzien van bolders. In de wanden zijn natuurstenen haalkommen met haalpennen aangebracht.
De sluis heeft twee paar, naar het westen kerende, houten puntdeuren. Eén van elk paar deuren bevat een ijzeren schuif (rinket) met heugelstang. Ter weerszijden van het sluishoofd aan de Kromme Mijdrecht staan enkelvoudige houten dukdalven; aan de andere zijde van de sluis bevinden zich dubbele remmingswerken.
Over de sluis ligt een getuide, draaibare loopbrug, die in ijzer en hout is uitgevoerd.
Waardering

Introduction
The Pondskoekersluis is a LOCK, located in the Kerkvaart where it joins the Kromme Mijdrecht. The lock provides access to the waterways in the Polder Groot Mijdrecht.
