Inleiding
Nabij De Hoef, in de Polder Blokland gelegen GEMAAL, gebouwd in 1914. Het gemaal diende ter bemaling van de 350 hectare tellende polder Blokland en verving een wipwatermolen. In het gebouw staat een 1-cylinder diesel-centrifugaalpomp van Werkspoor. De aandrijving hiervan werd in 1971 gewijzigd naar elektrisch. Het gemaal is thans buiten gebruik. De binnen- en buitenkolk zijn nog grotendeels aanwezig, maar ze zijn direct rond het gemaal gedempt en vervangen door onder andere een grindpad. In 1997 is het met gesmoorde kruispannen uitgevoerde dak vervangen door een dekking van golfplaten.
Omschrijving
Het aan De Hoef, achter nummer 19, in de Polder Blokland gelegen gemaal is op een rechthoekige plattegrond opgetrokken onder een zadeldak met de nok haaks op de waterloop. De strekkenlagen boven vensters en deuren hebben hardstenen accenten. De vensters zijn van gietijzer. De goot rust deels op houten klossen. De plint is gecementeerd en het trasraam wordt afgesloten door een rollaag.
De voorgevel of oostgevel bevat links een deur onder segmentboog en rechts twee rondboogvensters. De rechterzijgevel heeft twee rondboogvensters en een ronde gevelopening in de top. De achtergevel heeft twee rondboogvensters. De linkerzijgevel bevat rechts een dubbele deur onder segmentboogvormig bovenlicht en links een rondboogvenster. In de top is een gietijzeren roosvenster gezet.
Het gebouw bevat een centrifugaalpomp uit 1914 van het type 1-cylinder Werkspoordiesel van 25 PK. In 1971 is de aandrijving omgebouwd en elektrisch gemaakt.
Waardering
Het gemaal is van algemeen belang vanwege de cultuurhistorische waarde als voorbeeld van een klein, relatief gaaf bewaard gemaal met centrifugaalpomp in de Polder Blokland en tevens vanwege situationele waarde door de ligging in de landelijke omgeving.

Near De Hoef, in the Polder Blokland situated PUMPING STATION, built in 1914. The pumping station served to drain the 350 hectare Blokland polder and replaced a tilting water mill. Description
The pumping station located at De Hoef, behind number 19, in the Polder Blokland is erected on a rectangular floor plan under a gabled roof with the ridge perpendicular to the watercourse. The building contains a centrifugal pump from 1914 of the type 1-cylinder Werkspoor diesel of 25 HP. In 1971 the drive was rebuilt and made electric.
