Omschrijving complexonderdeel 1
Het ten oosten van de Amstel gelegen FORT bestaat uit een omgracht aardwerk met daarin betonnen bomvrije gebouwen volgens type B, een standaard-T-vormig model. De bomvrije gebouwen zijn opgetrokken uit grindbeton. De opzet van het fort bestaat uit een hoofdgebouw met poterne, met ter weerszijden een brede vleugel waar de manschappen in ondergebracht werden. Deze vleugels lopen uit in een geknikte verbindingsgang die voert naar een naar de frontzijde uitstekend hefkoepelgebouw. De poterne leidt in het midden naar het mitrailleurgebouw, dat middenvoor op de frontwal staat. Op de wal staan voorts tussen het mitrailleurgebouw en de hefkoepels enige mitrailleurstellingen. Middenop en aan weerszijden van het hoofdgebouw zijn uitkijkposten gezet. De daken van de gebouwen zijn met bitumen gedekt.
De ontsluiting van het omgrachte fort bevindt zich aan de noordzijde. De noordgevel of keelzijde is opgetrokken in beton en is voorzien van vensters en stalen, dubbele deuren, alle met getoogde bovenzijde. Boven de iets uit het midden gelegen hoofdtoegang is de tekst: 'Fort bij Uithoorn 1911' aangebracht. Links en rechts zijn tussen de manschappenvleugels en de gang naar het hefkoepelgebouw tegen de gevel kazematten gezet.
De vertrekken in het fort zijn gewelfd en genummerd boven de deuren. Over het algemeen zijn ze voorzien van een aanduiding met de functie. Grijsgeschilderde houten betimmeringen zijn grotendeels nog aanwezig, evenals restanten van de keuken, de privaten en de opstelplaatsen voor het geschut. Aan de frontzijde van de poterne bevinden zich een lokaal voor manschappen en een ruimte voor de wacht. De vertrekken in de vleugels worden door twee lange gangen ontsloten. In de rechtervleugel zijn verblijfplaatsen voor de commandant, de telegrafist en de officieren en verder een verbandplaats, een ziekenboeg en manschappenruimten ondergebracht. In één van deze ruimten bevindt zich een geklonken waterreservoir. De linkervleugel heeft een soortgelijke indeling voor manschappen en munitie. Hier zijn ook de keuken, de kantine en een vertrek voor de onderofficieren ondergebracht. Voorts bevinden zich bij de keelkazematten bergplaatsen voor munitie, privaten en reinigingslokalen.
Waardering complexonderdeel 1
Het fort is van algemeen belang vanwege de architectuurhistorische waarde als gaaf overgebleven voorbeeld van een T-vormig fort van het type B. Het is verder van algemeen belang vanwege cultuurhistorische en ensemblewaarde door de plaats die het fort inneemt in de Stelling van Amsterdam, binnen de linie Kudelstaart-Uithoorn. Hiernaast is van algemeen belang vanwege ensemble- en situationele waarde vanwege de ligging in een open, landelijke omgeving en in het inundatiegebied van de Stelling van Amsterdam.

Description of complex component 1
The FORT located east of the Amstel consists of a moated earthwork containing concrete bomb-proof buildings of type B, a standard T-shaped model. The bomb-proof buildings are constructed of gravel concrete. The layout of the fort consists of a main building with casemate, with on either side a broad wing housing the troops. These wings terminate in a bent connecting passage leading to a lift-cupola building projecting forward at the front. The casemate leads in the centre to the machine-gun building, which stands centrally forward on the front rampart. On the rampart, between the machine-gun building and the lift cupolas, stand some machine-gun positions. At the centre and on either side of the main building are observation posts. The roofs of the buildings are covered with bitumen.
Access to the moated fort is situated on the north side. The north facade or gorge side is constructed in concrete and is provided with windows and steel, double doors, all with arched tops.
