Omschrijving
VOETGANGERSBRUG, vermoedelijk uit de tweede helft der negentiende eeuw, gelegen over de slingervijver ten zuidwesten van het landhuis. De brug geeft toegang tot het eiland in de vijver.
De brug is geconstrueerd uit twee licht getogen, ijzeren, van uitsparingen voorziene liggers waarop houten planken als brugdek. Het hekwerk is ingedeeld in rechthoekige velden met windverband met in de kruising een opengewerkt medaillon. Het hekwerk wordt door een rondstaaf leuning afgesloten.
Waardering
De voetgangersbrug van de buitenplaats Sandwijck is van algemeen belang vanwege de architectuurhistorische waarde als gaaf en zeldzaam voorbeeld van een gietijzeren brug met smeedijzeren hekwerk alsmede vanwege de ensemblewaarde als onderdeel van het park en in relatie met de overige complexonderdelen.

Description
FOOTBRIDGE, presumed to date from the second half of the nineteenth century, situated over the serpentine pond to the southwest of the country house. The bridge provides access to the island in the pond.
The bridge is constructed from two slightly segmented, iron girders with recesses, upon which wooden planks serve as the bridge deck. The railings are divided into rectangular fields with windbracing with an open-worked medallion at the intersection. The railings are closed off by a round bar handrail.
Valuation
The footbridge of the country estate Sandwijck is of general importance for its architectural-historical value as an intact and rare example of a cast-iron bridge with wrought-iron railings as well as for its ensemble value as part of the park and in relation with the other complex components.
