The villa was built in 1842 in the neoclassical style typical of that period and had a rectangular floor plan, one storey with raised parapet, rendered masonry and round-arched windows. Around 1890 the building was modernised in the then popular neo-Renaissance style and acquired its current appearance. A richly decorated veranda and conservatory were added and furthermore the walls were stripped of render and provided with stucco decorations, while also the tower-like extension with staircase tower was added. In the early 20th century the stair tower was provided with a fine Art Nouveau stained-glass window.
