Inleiding
VILLA ("Francesca"), gebouwd in 1906 tezamen met een reeks andere gelijksoortige villa's, gelegen in de punt van een driehoekig perceel tussen de Admiraal van Gentstraat, de Van Speykstraat en de Trompstraat. De villa is gesitueerd op de kruising van de Van Gentstraat en de Trompstraat. Het pand is gelegen temidden van een ommuurde tuin.
Omschrijving
Villa met tuinmuur, bestaande uit twee bouwdelen, uitgelegd op een samengestelde plattegrond met souterrain, twee bouwlagen en grotendeels door een soort ingesnoerd tentdak gedekt. Het kleinere zuidoostelijk gepositioneerde bouwdeel, bevat links van de ingang een uit het gevelvlak oprijzende toren met tentdak. Het centrale dak is aan drie zijden met later aangebrachte dakkapellen die zich onder de vier oorspronkelijke, hoog geplaatste dakkapellen bevinden. De later bijna geheel gepleisterde gevels bevatten nog ter plaatse van enkele vensterbogen in schoon metselwerk uitgevoerde detailleringen. De voorgevel wordt gedomineerd door een zinken afdakje boven de via een trapje te bereiken ingang. Het dakvlak wordt bijna geheel in beslag genomen door een ontsierend, modern aangebracht balkon. Op de hoek van voorgevel en rechterzijgevel komen op de hoek van de verdieping een loggia met twee rondboogvormige openingen voor. De linkerzijgevel wordt op de verdieping door een gevelbrede loggia boven de deur afgesloten en vier vensters op de begane grond. Het torenlichaam is voorzien van overeenkomstige vensters als lichtspeten als in de linker zijgevel. Beide torens worden door een piron bekroond.

The central roof is on three sides furnished with later-added roof dormers which are situated beneath the four original, high-placed roof dormers. The later almost entirely plastered facades still contain, in the location of several window arches, detailing executed in fair-faced brickwork. The front facade is dominated by a zinc awning above the entrance reached via a small flight of steps. The roof plane is almost entirely occupied by a disfiguring, modern-added balcony.
