Inleiding
Dubbel HERENHUIS, verbouwd tot appartementencomplex, gebouwd in 1872 in neo-renaissancestijl en gelegen aan de singel langs de Stadsbuitengracht.
Omschrijving
Onderkelderd dubbelpand op rechthoekige plattegrond, drie bouwlagen en met leien gedekt schilddak. Symmetrisch ingedeelde voorgevel in baksteen en pleister opgetrokken op hardstenen plint.Per woning vier traveeën breed. Eerste bouwlaag met siermetselwerk in blokken met schijnvoegen met korfboogvormig vensters en deuren. Tweede en derde bouwlaag met een travee-verdeling met gemetselde pilasters, waarvan de basement en het kapiteel gepleisterd zijn. Op tweede bouwlaag voor de middelste traveeën dubbele balkons op zware consoles. Tussen de verdiepingen geprofileerde, gepleisterde waterlijsten. De voorgevel wordt beëindigd door een kroonlijst, daarboven een als hals gevel uitgevoerde dakopbouw waarin twee tussen pilasters gevatte vensters onder een kroonlijst. Hierboven sluit de hals aan met een eveneens tussen pilasters geplaatst venster dat vervolgens door een klauwstuk wordt geflankeerd en afgesloten door een fronton.
De vensters van de tweede en derde bouwlaag en de dakopbouw, zijn voornamelijk stolp- en schuiframen.
De gevel is gedecoreerd met gepleisterde blokken, in de strekken boven de vensters en in de dakopbouw een schelpornament, boven de ramen rijker uitgevoerde kapitelen.

Basement storey double property on rectangular plan, three storeys with slate-covered hipped roof. Symmetrically arranged front facade in brick and plaster on a hardstone plinth. Per dwelling four bays wide. First storey with decorative brickwork in blocks with false joints with basket-arch-shaped windows and doors. Second and third storeys with a bay division with moulded pilasters, of which the base and capital are plastered. On second storey in front of the middle bays double balconies on heavy consoles. Between the storeys profiled, plastered drip moulding. The front facade is terminated by a cornice, above it an attic storey executed as a neck gable in which two windows set between pilasters under a cornice. Above this the neck connects with a similarly placed window between pilasters which is then flanked by a claw-piece and closed off by a pediment.
