Inleiding
Drie geschakelde HERENHUIZEN in één opzet gebouwd in 1873 naar ontwerp van architect J.H.J. van Lunteren. De panden maken deel uit van een gelijksoortige ensemble woonhuizen aan het Lucas Bolwerk, waarvan meerdere naar ontwerp van Van Lunteren.
Omschrijving
Drie geschakelde panden in symmetrische opzet, waarbij de buitenste twee panden ten opzichte van elkaar spiegelbeeldig zijn, het middelste pand heeft de symmetrie-as in het midden. Alle drie panden op rechthoekige plattegrond, met drie bouwlagen en pannen kappen evenwijdig aan de straat, het middelste pand is iets hoger. De panden nummer 9 en 11 zijn uitgevoerd met drie traveeen brede gevel, de ingang gelegen in risalerende, geheel in blokken gepleisterde buitenste travee. Lage beganegrondverdieping met in oorsprong twee schuifvensters (venster in nr 9 gewijzigd) en deur, waarboven een balkon op rijk bewerkte consoles. Eerste verdieping uitgevoerd als bel-etage met franse balkons. Alle vensters van oorsprong schuifvensters en boven in de risaliet de derde bouwlaag twee mezzanino-vensters. Gevelbeëindiging met brede lijst met opgelegde velden. In de kap twee dakkapellen met pilasters en beëindiging in vorm van tympaan (dakkapellen nummer 9 gewijzigd).
Nummer 10, in de centrale as van het bouwblok, met in hardsteen uitgevoerde beganegrond, deur in middelste travee, schuifvenster aan weerszijden in eerste en derde travee. Op de bel-etage middelste travee franse balkons. Middelste travee op de verdiepingen gepleisterd, evenals de hoekpilasters van de risaliet, hardsteen op beganegrond. Onder de vensters van de derde bouwlaag opgelegde velden met decoratie. Middelste travee extra rijk uitgevoerd met balkon op hardstenen consoles op tweede bouwlaag, ionische pilaster aan weerszijden van venster, bekroond met lijst met gebroken fronton, daaronder opgelegde velden met decoratie. Beëindiging van de gevel met brede kroonlijst, met daarin rechts en links twee mezzanino-vensters en in de middelste, gepleisterde travee een rond venster onder een geprofileerde, gebroken halfrond fronton. Boven de eerste en derde travee een dakkapel met stolpraam met pilaster en geprofileerde lijst.
Oorspronkelijke interieur-onderdelen ondermeer in de vorm van stucplafonds.
Waardering
Drie herenhuizen in één opzet van algemeen belang vanwege de architectuurhistorische waarde als voorbeeld van Eclecticisme. Voorts vanwege de stedenbouwkundige waarde als onderdeel van een gelijksoortige ensemble beeldbepalende panden aan het Lucas Bolwerk.

Three linked properties in symmetrical layout, whereby the two outer properties are mirror images of each other, the middle property has the axis of symmetry in the centre. All three properties on rectangular plan, with three storeys and pantile roofs parallel to the street, the middle property is slightly higher. The properties numbered 9 and 11 are executed with three-bay wide facade, the entrance located in a projecting outer bay entirely plastered in blocks. Low ground floor storey with originally two sash windows (window in no. 9 altered) and door, above which a balcony on richly worked consoles. First floor executed as a belle étage with French balconies. All windows originally sash windows and above in the projection two mezzanine windows on the third storey.
