Omschrijving
FABRIEKSGEBOUW van AARDEWERKFABRIEK, bestaande uit twee geschakelde bedrijfsgebouwen en daarmee verbonden WONING uit 1913, opgetrokken in baksteen op een rechthoekige plattegrond. De drie gebouwen van ongelijke hoogte zijn alle met de nok van het zadeldak gericht op de weg. Als voorgevel van de twee fabrieksgebouwen wordt de noordzijde beschouwd die is gericht op het Merwedekanaal. Het linker bouwdeel (plateelbakkerij) is ten opzichte van het aangrenzende bouwdeel hoger opgetrokken en smaller en is voorzien van een pannen zadeldak en het bredere rechter bouwdeel is belegd met golfplaten; beide loodrecht op de weg gesitueerd. Het tweelaags bouwdeel heeft een zes venstertraveeën brede zijgevel (waarin twee deuren ten behoeve van trafohuis) en daarachter nog een lagere aanbouw; de voorgevel bevat begane-gronds een gewijzigde situatie en is nu behalve een onder de geveltop geplaatst rondvenster blind uitgevoerd. Alle vensters in dit bouwdeel zijn vensters met uitzondering van de bovenste reeks in de lagere aanbouw, welke in metaal zijn uitgevoerd. Alle vensters met roedeverdeling. De verdieping van dit deel werd gebruikt als droogruimte. Het bredere éénlaags bouwdeel rechts telt in de symmetrisch ingedeelde voorgevel drie traveeën waarin twee getoogde ijzeren vensters met roedeverdeling ter weerszijden van de - vernieuwde - deur. Daarboven tegeltableau met afbeelding van pottenbakker en de flankerende tekst 'N.V. MOBACH'S AARDEWERK VOORHEEN K. MOBACH'. Daarboven rond venster. Het interieur heeft onder meer een oude moffeloven uit 1922, de laatste in Nederland. Door middel van een muurtje, waarin een poortje, is dit pand verbonden met het woonhuis van twee bouwlagen onder zadeldak. De voorgevel is drie venstertraveeën breed met schuifvensters met bovenlichten met roedeverdeling. Voorts in de linker travee een houten deur met zij- en bovenlichten met glas-in-lood, daarboven een balkon.

Description
FACTORY BUILDING of an earthenware factory, consisting of two adjoining business buildings and a connected DWELLING from 1913, constructed in brick on a rectangular ground plan. The three buildings of unequal height all have the ridge of the gabled roof oriented toward the road. The north side, facing the Merwedekanaal, is regarded as the front facade of the two factory buildings. The left structural part (faience pottery) is constructed taller and narrower relative to the adjoining structural part and is provided with a tile gabled roof, and the wider right structural part is covered with corrugated sheeting; both situated perpendicular to the road. The two-storey structural part has a six-bay-wide side facade (containing two doors for the transformer house) and behind it another lower extension; the front facade contains a modified situation at ground level and is now blind except for a round window placed under the gable top. All windows in this structural part are windows with the exception of the upper row in the lower extension, which are executed in metal. All windows with glazing bars. The storey of this part was used as a drying room. The wider single-storey right structural part has three bays in the symmetrically arranged front facade containing two arched iron windows with glazing bars on either side of the - renewed - door. Above it a tile panel with an image of a potter and the flanking text 'N.V. MOBACH'S AARDEWERK VOORHEEN K. MOBACH'. Above it a round window. The interior includes, amongst other things, an old muffle kiln from 1922, the last in the Netherlands. By means of a wall, in which is a small gate, this property is connected with the dwelling house of two storeys under a gabled roof. The front facade is three bays wide with sash windows with fanlights with glazing bars. Furthermore in the left bay a wooden door with side and fanlights with leaded glass, above it a balcony.

Faience pottery factory with dwelling of general importance because of the cultural-historical value as part of a rare industrial complex and because of the exceptional industrial-historical value of the muffle kiln.
