Inleiding
Op de Rooms Katholieke begraafplaats te Sneek staat het GRAFMONUMENT voor de familie Visser; de eerste begravene was M.J. Brenninkmeijer, gestorven in 1892, het jaar van aanleg van de begraafplaats.
Het monument bestaat uit een hoge natuurstenen sokkel, uitgevoerd in een stijl waarbij Neo-gotische elementen zijn toegepast, waarop het standbeeld van een engel is geplaatst.
Omschrijving
Het hoge vierkante basement staat op een laag plateau dat begrensd wordt door een ketting die aan tien zeshoekige natuurstenen paaltjes vastgemaakt is. Hoog op het basement staat de engel met opgeheven rechterhand. De grote vleugels en het rijk geplooide gewaad zijn de enige ornamentele elementen die de grote gestalte "versieren".

Het grafmonument met gebeeldhouwde engel op de Rooms Katholieke begraafplaats te Sneek, vervaardigd in 1892, is van algemeen cultuurhistorisch belang:

At the Roman Catholic cemetery in Sneek stands the GRAVE MONUMENT for the Visser family; the first buried was M.J. Brenninkmeijer, died in 1892, the year the cemetery was laid out.
