Inleiding
Aan de noordzijde van de kapel op de Rooms Katholieke Begraafplaats uit 1892 te Sneek bevindt zich een natuurstenen, tempelvormig GRAFMONUMENT voor de familie Rooswinkel en Stockmann-Rooswinkel, dat in 1884 is vervaardigd en in 1911 naar deze begraafplaats is overgebracht. Het monument is in neo-classicistische stijl uitgevoerd; het bestaat uit een bed met een steen in de vorm van een tempel-front.
Omschrijving
Het grafmonument is van natuursteen. De steen heeft de vorm van een aedicula. Het fronton is gebogen en rust op twee pilasters met laag basement en ionische kapitelen. Hiertussen is de gedenksteen geplaatst en boven deze een reliëf van de graflegging van Christus. De scène stelt een liggende Christus voor, die horizontaal de hele voorgrond in beslag neemt en waarvan het hoofd gesteund wordt door een engel. Maria, in het centrum van het beeld en achter haar zoon, bukt, knielend over het lichaam waarvan zij een levenloze hand vasthoudt. De scène wordt rechts afgesloten door een half knielende en een staande figuur met doeken op de arm. De rechthoekige steen onder het reliëf herdenkt de begraven familieleden: J.W. Rooswinkel, gestorven in 1884 en in 1911 vanaf het kerkhof van Wijtgaard naar deze begraafplaats overgebracht; T.C. van der Kalle, zijn vrouw, overleden in 1911; A.D. Stockmann-Rooswinkel, overleden in 1943 en haar echtgenoot A.G. Stockmann, overleden in 1961.

On the north side of the chapel at the Roman Catholic Cemetery dating from 1892 in Sneek stands a natural stone, temple-shaped GRAVE MONUMENT for the Rooswinkel and Stockmann-Rooswinkel families, which was made in 1884 and transferred to this cemetery in 1911. Rooswinkel, died in 1884 and transferred in 1911 from the cemetery of Wijtgaard to this cemetery; T.C. van der Kalle, his wife, died in 1911; A.D. Stockmann-Rooswinkel, died in 1943 and her husband A.G. Stockmann, died in 1961.
