FLORABEELD. Oorspronkelijk stond centraal op het voorplein tussen huiseiland en tuinmanshuis een laat 18de-eeuws tuinbeeld voorstellende een vrouwenfiguur met een doek over het hoofd en een fraai gedrapeerd kleed aan. In haar linkerhand draagt zij enkele bloemen. Het geheel is uitgevoerd in Bentheimer zandsteen. Verfresten toonden aan dat het beeld ooit beschilderd was. Sinds de herinrichting van 1999-2000 staat het beeld in het midden van de siertuin ten westen van het eiland. Het is opnieuw beschilderd.

Description
FLORA SCULPTURE. Originally, a late 18th-century garden sculpture depicting a female figure with a cloth over her head and a beautifully draped dress stood centrally in the forecourt between the house island and the gardener's lodge. She carries some flowers in her left hand. The whole is executed in Bentheimer sandstone. Paint residues indicated that the sculpture was once painted. Since the renovation of 1999-2000, the sculpture has stood in the centre of the ornamental garden to the west of the island. It has been repainted.
