Inleiding:
Dubbel BEDRIJFSPAND annex WOONHUIS, gelegen direct naast het in 1890 opgerichte "Westelijk Handelsterrein", in 1893 gebouwd in Neo-Renaissancestijl, naar ontwerp van T.L. Kanters. Een van de opdrachtgevers was J.C.H. Hol, de directeur van de N.V. Blauwhoedenveem, die ook de grond inbracht.
Omschrijving:
Streng symmetrisch, gecombineerd woon-bedrijfspand van drie bouwlagen, een kelder en een kapverdieping onder een afgeplat schilddak. Op een vrijwel rechthoekige plattegrond opgetrokken in rode baksteen met plint, speklagen, rollagen, diamantblokken en vensteromlijstingen van natuursteen. De dakschilden zijn met schubvormige leien bedekt.
Het platte dakdeel is bedekt met zink. De voorgevel telt zes vensterassen, waarvan de twee aan beide uiteinden licht risaleren en de toegangen tot de bovenwoningen bevatten. Tussen de verdiepingen bevinden zich cordonlijsten. Het hele pand is voorzien van speklagen.
De deuren en vensters zijn alle gevat in houten kozijnen.
Het linker en het rechter pand worden visueel gescheiden door diamantblokken op de speklagen. In het rechthoekige bovenlicht van de deuren elk een tweelichtvenster. Tussen de zijrisalieten op de begane grond twee dubbele licht getoogde pakhuis/staldeuren met boven in de omlijsting een ornament van natuursteen. Op de eerste verdieping boven de huisdeuren, rustend op natuurstenen consoles, balkons met natuurstenen balustraden. Daarachter een dubbele franse deur met natuurstenen omlijsting in de vorm van een hoofdgestel met diamantblokken en daarboven, als sluitsteen, in het midden van de rollaag, een vrouwenbuste. Tussen de balkons vier rechthoekige schuifvensters. Onder ieder venster een natuurstenen diamantblok en aan de bovenzijde een horizontale vensterbekroning. Hierboven strekken met natuurstenen sluitstenen. Op de tweede verdieping rondboogvensters met gedecoreerde vensteromlijstingen. Hier in de zijrisalieten een frans balkon met natuurstenen balustrade. De kapverdieping wordt bekroond door een brede daklijst rustend op gedecoreerde houten consoles.
Op de panelen, tussen de consoles van de zijrisalieten, links de inscriptie ANNO en rechts 1893. De zijrisalieten hebben op de kapverdieping een aedicula-vormige dakkapel. Aan de voorzijde in het dakschild zijn tussen de zijrisalieten recentelijk vier rechthoekige dakkapellen aangebracht. In het interieur zijn, voor zover nog aanwezig, de originele lambrizeringen, stucplafonds, schouwen en deuren van belang.

Built on an almost rectangular plan in red brick with plinth, string courses, rolled courses, diamond-pointed stones and window surrounds of natural stone.
