Inleiding:
Op een inpandig terrein gesitueerde dubbele PAKHUIS-reeks deel uitmakend van het complex Westelijk Handelsterrein en gebouwd in 1890.
Omschrijving:
De sober vormgegeven pakhuisreeks bevat in totaal 36 individueel afsluitbare pakhuizen van 3,2 meter hoog en 4,75 meter breed.
De pakhuizen zijn bereikbaar via twee poorten in het voorliggende herenhuis aan de van Vollenhovenstraat 15. Rechts de oprit naar de bovengrondse pakhuizen, links de afrit naar de 18 bergkelders, die zich aan weerszijden van een 10 meter brede en 55 meter lange binnenstraat bevinden. Kelders en pakhuizen staan intern, via een split-level systeem, met elkaar in verbinding. De bovengrondse pakhuizen aan weerszijden van de expeditiestraat hebben bakstenen gevels en dubbele houten laaddeuren met halfronde bovenlichten met smeedijzeren traliewerk en ijzeren laadbalkons. De deuren worden geflankeerd door kleine rechthoekige vensters. De platte daken zijn met aarde gedekt en met gras begroeid. De open expeditiestraat wordt gedragen door een constructie van ijzeren profielbalken verbonden met betonnen troggewelfjes.

The soberly designed warehouse range contains a total of 36 individually lockable warehouses, 3.2 metres high and 4.75 metres wide.
The warehouses are accessible via two gates in the adjoining townhouse at van Vollenhovenstraat 15. On the right the ramp to the above-ground warehouses, on the left the ramp to the 18 storage cellars, which are located on either side of a 10 metre wide and 55 metre long internal street. Cellars and warehouses are internally connected via a split-level system. The above-ground warehouses on either side of the dispatch street have brick facades and double wooden loading doors with semicircular fanlights with wrought-iron grilles and iron loading balconies. The doors are flanked by small rectangular windows. The flat roofs are covered with earth and overgrown with grass. The open dispatch street is supported by a structure of iron section beams connected with concrete barrel vaults.
