Inleiding:
Aan de teruggerooide zuidoostzijde van de museumtuin van het complex museum Boijmans van Beuningen en aan de noordzijde van de gracht en in de as van de populierenlaan gesitueerd zeventiende-eeuws HEK van de voormalige boerderij Muyden.
Omschrijving:
Het hek bestaat uit twee gemetselde hekpijlers van gele baksteen. Boven in de linkerpijler is op een natuurstenen plaquette "MUY" en op de rechterpijler "DEN" gegraveerd. De pijlers worden ieder bekroond door gebeeldhouwde leeuwen met wapenschilden. Aan weerszijden van de pijlers bevindt zich, doorlopend in het water van de gracht, een gemetselde keermuur. Deze muur is voorzien van een gemetselde ezelsrug en, direct naast de pijlers, een houten traliewerk. Tussen de hekpijlers bevinden zich twee ingezwenkte houten deuren met hoekige hekstijlen.

A seventeenth-century GATE of the former Muyden farmhouse, situated on the recontoured south-east side of the museum garden of the Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen complex and on the north side of the canal and in line with the poplar avenue.
Description:
The gate consists of two masonry gate piers of yellow brick. Above on the left pier "MUY" is engraved on a stone plaque and on the right pier "DEN". The piers are each crowned by sculptured lions with escutcheons. On either side of the piers, continuing into the water of the canal, is a masonry retaining wall. This wall is fitted with a masonry coping and, directly beside the piers, timber lattice work. Between the gate piers are two inswung wooden doors with angled gate stanchions.
Valuation:
Seventeenth-century gate of general importance by virtue of its architectural and cultural-historical value, as well as of importance due to its ensemble value as an integrated component of the Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen complex.
