Inleiding:
In 1935 in Nieuwe Architectonische tuinstijl, eveneens naar ontwerp van A. van der Steur, aangelegde MUSEUMTUIN, deel uitmakend van het complex museum Boijmans Van Beuningen.
Omschrijving:
De streng geometrische ingedeelde tuin beslaat een vrijwel rechthoekig kavel tussen het museum en de Westzeedijk en is geheel omsloten door een brede sloot die aan de noord- en zuidzijde van het park overgaat in een vijverpartij. De meest noordelijke vijver is rechthoekig met een ronde afsluiting aan de zuidzijde. Het rechthoekige deel wordt geflankeerd door lage beukenhagen en meidoorns en aan de zuidzijde van het ronde deel, aan weerszijden groepjes van drie lariksen. In het verlengde hiervan bevinden zich twee rechthoekige gazons. Het laatste gazon is het langst en heeft aan weerszijden smalle rozenperken. Oostelijk van het gazon bevindt zich een met ligusterhagen ingedeeld rosarium. In de as van de achtervleugel van het museum is over de hele lengte van de tuin, richting Westzeedijk, een 'populierenlaan' aangelegd. Aan de oostzijde van deze laan staat een bronzen buste van de dichter J.H. Leopold. De tuin wordt aan de achterzijde formeel afgesloten door een eveneens halfronde vijver met aan de overzijde, in de as van het museumpaviljoen, het afzonderlijk beschermde ommuurd monument voor G.J. de Jongh (apart monumentnummer 513880).
Aan het begin van de populierenlaan aan de zuidzijde van de tuin bevindt zich een zeventiende-eeuws hek (apart monumentnummer 513881).

The strictly geometrically laid-out garden occupies an almost rectangular plot between the museum and the Westzeedijk and is entirely enclosed by a broad moat that on the north and south sides of the park extends into a pond feature. The most northerly pond is rectangular with a round termination on its south side. The rectangular section is flanked by low beech hedges and hawthorns and on the south side of the round section, on either side groups of three larches. Continuing from this are two rectangular lawns. The last lawn is the longest and has narrow rose beds on either side. East of the lawn is a rosarium subdivided by privet hedges. In line with the rear wing of the museum, across the full length of the garden towards the Westzeedijk, a 'poplar avenue' has been laid out. On the east side of this avenue stands a bronze bust of the poet J.H. Leopold. The garden is formally closed at the rear by a likewise semicircular pond with, on the far side, in line with the museum pavilion, the separately protected walled monument to G.J. de Jongh (separate monument number 513880).
At the beginning of the poplar avenue on the south side of the garden is a seventeenth-century gate (separate monument number 513881).
