Inleiding
Eenvoudige en op een lichte verhoging bij de noordelijke zijingang gesitueerde MATERIAALBEWAARPLAATS, ook wel "steenhouwershuisje" genoemd, gerealiseerd bij de uitbreiding van 1887 naar een gewijzigd ontwerp uit 1889 van de toenmalige Haarlemse gemeente-architect J. Leijh.
Omschrijving
Het kleine gebouw op rechthoekig grondplan heeft één bouwlaag onder zadeldak dat met zink is gedekt. Op de vier hoeken en op de zuidelijke nokpunt bevinden zich zinken akroteriën in de vorm van palmetten. Het exemplaar op de nokpunt is voorzien van twee kruislings geplaatste fakkels. Op de noordelijk nokpunt bevond zich een identiek exemplaar.
Het muurwerk is uitgevoerd in rode baksteen. De beide kopgevels bevatten dubbele paneeldeuren. Tegen beide lange zijdenvis een houten aanbouw met lessenaarsdak geplaatst. In de zijgevels van deze aanbouw bevinden zich meerruits vensters.
Waardering
Kleine materiaalbewaarplaats van typologisch belang alsmede van belang als historisch-functioneel onderdeel van het complex van de Algemene Begraafplaats Kleverlaan.

Simple MATERIALS STORAGE BUILDING, also called "stonemason's cottage", situated on a slight elevation at the northern side entrance, realised during the 1887 expansion according to a modified design from 1889 by the then Haarlem municipal architect J. Leijh.
Description
The small building on a rectangular ground plan has one storey under a gabled roof covered with zinc. On the four corners and on the southern ridge point are zinc acroteria in the form of palmettes. The specimen on the ridge point is provided with two crossed torches. An identical specimen was located on the northern ridge point.
The masonry is executed in red brick. Both gabled ends contain double panel doors. Against both long sides a wooden extension with a sloping roof is placed. In the side gables of this extension are multi-pane windows.
Valuation
Small materials storage building of typological importance as well as of importance as a historical-functional component of the complex of the Algemene Begraafplaats Kleverlaan.
