HOOFDINGANG van de Algemene Begraafplaats Kleverlaan, ontstaan bij de uitbreiding uit 1916, toen de hoofdingang werd verplaatst van de Schoterweg naar de Kleverlaan.
Omschrijving
De hoofdingang bestaat uit vier pijlers, paarsgewijs geplaatst aan weerszijden van het begin van de oprijlaan. Tussen de pijlers bevinden zich in sober smeedwerk uitgevoerde draaihekken: dubbele ter afsluiting van de oprijlaan en enkele ter afsluiting van de doorgangen voor voetgangers aan weerszijden hiervan. De vier pijlers staan op kruisvormig grondplan en bestaan uit een basement in zandsteen en opgaand metselwerk in rode baksteen dat aan de bovenzijde door fries met kroonlijst wordt afgesloten. Ter bekroning heeft elke pijler een met festoenen omklede asurn die evenals het fries en de kroonlijst is uitgevoerd in zandsteen. Het dubbele draaihek dat de oprijlaan afsluit heeft aan de bovenzijde een spiegelboog. Daaronder bevindt zich het motief van een slang die zichzelf in de staart bijt als symbool voor de eeuwigheid. De draaihekken aan weerszijden daarvan zijn gedecoreerd met centraal geplaatste rozetten.

MAIN ENTRANCE of the Algemene Begraafplaats Kleverlaan, created upon the expansion of 1916, when the main entrance was relocated from the Schoterweg to the Kleverlaan.
Description
The main entrance consists of four pillars, placed in pairs on either side of the beginning of the access road. Between the pillars are swing gates executed in sober wrought work: double gates to close off the access road and single gates to close off the passages for pedestrians on either side thereof. The four pillars stand on a cruciform ground plan and consist of a basement in sandstone and rising brickwork in red brick that is terminated at the top by a frieze with cornice. For a crowning feature each pillar has an urn surrounded with festoons which, like the frieze and cornice, is executed in sandstone. The double swing gate that closes off the access road has a mirror arch at the top. Beneath this is the motif of a snake biting itself in the tail as a symbol for eternity. The swing gates on either side thereof are decorated with centrally placed rosettes.
