Omschrijving
Rechtopstaand GRAFTEKEN uit 1925 naar ontwerp van August Falise, boven het graf van de Nederlandse sportman Jaap Eden. Het rechthoekige en aan de bovenzijde schuin aflopende grafteken bestaat uit zachte natuursteen op een sokkel in hardsteen. In de steen is het reliëf van een wielrenner en profil en een paar schaatsen uitgespaard. Over de hoogste bovenhoek hangt een lauwerkrans. Onder de wielrenner staat de inscriptie: "In Memoriam Jaap Eden. Wereldkampioen schaatsenrijden 1893-95-96. Wereldkampioen wielrennen "1894-95".
Waardering
Grafteken boven het graf van Jaap Eden, van belang uit cultuurhistorisch en kunsthistorisch oogpunt. Voorts van belang als historisch-functioneel onderdeel van de Algemene Begraafplaats Kleverlaan.

Upright GRAVESTONE from 1925 designed by August Falise, above the grave of Dutch sportsman Jaap Eden. The rectangular gravestone with sloping top consists of soft natural stone on a base of hardstone. In the stone is carved in relief a racing cyclist in profile and a pair of skates. Above the highest top corner hangs a laurel wreath. Below the cyclist stands the inscription: "In Memoriam Jaap Eden. World Champion speed skating 1893-95-96. World Champion cycling "1894-95".
