HERENHUIS, gebouwd in 1869-70 in opdrachtgever van G. van Steenis.
Vanaf 1930 heeft het eclectiche huis lange tijd gediend als directeurswoning van het Antoniusgasthuis.
Omschrijving
Het herenhuis telt een bouwlaag boven het souterrain en wordt afgedekt door een schilddak met rode tuile du Nord dakpannen. Het gepleisterde en wit geschilderde pand heeft een vierkante plattegrond en vier traveeën in de voorgevel. Op de hoeken Empire vensters met ronde schouders, in het midden twee openslaande deuren, die qua indeling overeenkomen met de vensters. De verbrede middenroede vindt in de deelroede van het bovenlicht een afgeronde beëindiging. De kozijnen zijn voorzien van een geprofileerde stucomlijsting met lofwerk en een kuif. De souterrainverdieping bezit twee grote tweelichtsvensters. In de kroonlijst bevinden zich kleine ronde raampjes tussen aansluitende velden en bewerkte consoles die de gootlijst dragen. Het dakvlak wordt doorbroken door een brede dakkapel met een door een boog gekoppelde zesruits rondboogramen.
Een centrale waaiervormige hardstenen trap met bordes leidt naar de deuren. Het hekwerk van de balustrade is vernieuwd. In de linkergevel bevindt zich een hoge getoogde vleugeldeur met sieromlijsting.
In de tuin bevinden zich diverse grote oude loofbomen, die waarschijnlijk dateren uit de bouwtijd.

Description
The mansion has one storey above the basement and is covered by a hipped roof with red Tuile du Nord tiles. The plastered and white-painted building has a square floor plan and four bays in the front gable. On the corners Empire windows with rounded shoulders, in the middle two double doors, which in terms of division correspond with the windows. The widened middle glazing bar finds a rounded termination in the glazing bar of the fanlight. The frames are provided with a moulded stucco surround with foliage and a hood. The basement storey has two large two-light windows. In the cornice are small round windows between adjoining fields and worked consoles which carry the gutter line. The roof plane is broken by a broad roof dormer with a six-pane round-arch window coupled by an arch.
A central fan-shaped sandstone staircase with landing leads to the doors. The balustrade ironwork has been renewed. In the left gable is a tall arched double door with ornamental surround.
In the garden are various large old deciduous trees, which probably date from the time of construction.
