Inleiding
VILLA, in eclectische stijl gebouwd in 1890 in opdracht van de baksteenfabrikant Dirk van Lookeren Campagne. Er vonden verbouwingen plaats in 1927 en in 1990.
Omschrijving
De tweelaagse villa heeft in totaal drie brede vensterassen en een schilddak met zwarte oudhollandse dakpannen. De nokas ligt parallel aan de straat. De linker travee is iets achterwaarts verschoven. De linkergevel is deels vastgebouwd aan het buurpand op nummer 83. De gevel is geblokt gepleisterd en zandsteenkleurig, geleed door lijsten en afgesloten door een kroonlijst.
De samengestelde schuifvensters met vernieuwd glas-in-lood bovenlicht hebben een basement met verdiepte gebosseerde velden en worden omlijst door profielen welke met voluutconsoles een geprofileerde lijst dragen. Bij de identieke schuifvensters zijn deze velden vlak afgewerkt. Op de etages hebben de vensters aan weerskanten korte pilasters met cannelures en composietkapiteel tussen gepleisterde siervelden, die een lijst dragen.
In de rechterzijgevel bevindt zich de entree onder het in 1927 aangebouwde balkon op pijlers met banden. Een groot samengesteld raam met decoratie zoals hierboven beschreven komt uit op dit balkon.
Zowel voor als achter het huis bevindt zich een tuin met diverse grote loofbomen die geplant zijn in de bouwtijd van het huis.
Waardering
De villa is van algemeen belang. Zij heeft cultuurhistorische waarden als voorbeeld van de sociaal-economische ontwikkeling van de industrialisatie in oostelijk Noord-Brabant, in het bijzonder de ontwikkeling van een ook op landelijk niveau prominente industrialisatie-as aan de Zuid-Willemsvaart. Zij heeft architectuurhistorische waarde als voorbeeld van de wijze waarop eclectische motieven worden gebruikt om de representatiegraad van de burgerij en de fabrikanten te verhogen. Description
The two-storey villa has in total three wide window bays and a hipped roof with black old Dutch tiles. The roof ridge lies parallel to the street. The left bay is slightly set back. The left gable is partly attached to the neighbouring building at number 83. The gable is rough-cast plaster and sand-stone coloured, articulated by mouldings and finished with a cornice.
The composite sash windows with renewed leaded glass fanlights have a basement with recessed bossed fields and are framed by profiles which with volute corbels carry a moulded list. At the identical sash windows these fields are finished flat. On the storeys the windows on both sides have short pilasters with fluting and composite capital between plastered ornamental fields, which carry a moulding.
In the right side gable the entrance is located beneath the balcony on pillars with bands added in 1927. A large composite window with decoration as described above opens onto this balcony.
Both in front and behind the house is a garden with various large deciduous trees which were planted at the time of construction of the house.
Valuation
The villa is of general importance. It has cultural-historical values as an example of the socio-economic development of industrialisation in eastern North Brabant, in particular the development of an industrialisation axis along the Zuid-Willemsvaart that is prominent at national level. It has architectural-historical value as an example of the manner in which eclectic motifs are used to increase the representative character of the bourgeoisie and manufacturers.
