Inleiding
CALVARIEGROEP, daterend uit ca. 1880 en gelegen op een begroeide hoge kunstmatige heuvel. De heuvel ligt aan het eind van het middenpad recht tegenover de ingang.
Omschrijving
De groep bestaat uit drie wit geschilderde beelden, Johannes, Maria en de gekruisigde Christus. Het corpus is uitgevoerd in gietijzer.
Waardering
De Calvariegroep is van algemeen belang. Het object heeft cultuurhistorische waarde als getuigenis van de katholieke grafcultuur in Zuid-Nederland. Het heeft kunsthistorische waarde vanwege de stijl en de detaillering en is tevens van belang als representatief voorbeeld van de ateliermatige produktie van sculptuur. Het heeft met de ligging aan het einde van de middenas ensemblewaarde als onderdeel van de beide naast elkaar gelegen complexen van de hervormde en katholieke begraafplaats.
