Inleiding
DOODGRAVERSWONING ANNEX BAARHUIS, in neo-classicistische stijl gebouwd in 1869 voor de naastgelegen Hervormde begraafplaats. Het pand is thans in gebruik als woonhuis.
Omschrijving
Het eenlaagse, vrijstaande rechthoekige woonhuis heeft een zadeldak met de nok loodrecht op de straat. Het dak is voorzien van rode Tuile du nordpannen. De gevel is boven de donkere plint wit geschilderd en gepleisterd. De begane grond is geblokt gepleisterd, boven de cordonlijst is de gevel vlak met uitzondering van de sierlijst die de dakrand volgt. De getoogde schuifvensters zijn dicht bij elkaar, centraal geplaatst. De vensters worden visueel verbonden door een getoogde gepleisterde sierlijst. Elk venster heeft één luik. Onder de sierlijst met tuitgevel is een getoogd tweeruits zolderraam geplaatst.
Rechts en links achter is het huis voorzien van een eenlaagse aanbouw onder flauw hellend dak. Het wit geverfde bakstenen linkergedeelte is voorzien van getoogde vensters en gietijzeren muurankers. In het gepleisterde rechterdeel bevindt zich de paneeldeur met een getoogd gedeeld bovenlicht.
Waardering
De doodgraverswoning is van algemeen belang. Het object heeft cultuurhistorische waarde als getuigenis van de sobere grafcultuur van de hervormde gemeenten in Zuid-Nederland en is tevens van belang voor de typologische ontwikkeling van de gebouwen voor de begraafplaatsen. Het heeft architectuurhistorische waarde vanwege de eenvoud die tot uitdrukking komt in stijl en detaillering met gebruikmaking van neo-classicistische vormen. Description
The single-storey, detached rectangular dwelling house has a gabled roof with the ridge perpendicular to the street. The roof is provided with red Tuile du nord tiles. The facade is painted white and plastered above the dark plinth. The ground floor is rusticated plastered, above the cordon moulding the facade is flat with the exception of the ornamental moulding that follows the roof edge. The arched sash windows are placed close together, centrally positioned. The windows are visually connected by an arched plastered ornamental moulding. Each window has one shutter. Beneath the ornamental moulding with spout gable is an arched two-pane attic window.
To the right and left at the rear the house has a single-storey extension under a gently sloping roof. The white-painted brick left part is provided with arched windows and ornamental cast iron wall anchors. In the plastered right part is located the panel door with an arched divided fanlight.
Valuation
The sexton's house is of general importance. The object has cultural-historical value as evidence of the austere burial culture of Reformed communities in South Netherlands and is also important for the typological development of cemetery buildings. It has architectural-historical value due to the simplicity expressed in style and detailing through the use of neo-classical forms. It has ensemble value in conjunction with the cemetery gate and with the adjacent Catholic cemetery, which whole is important due to its location and layout.
