Inleiding
Het dubbele HERENHUIS is gebouwd in ambachtelijk-traditionele vormen aan het eind van de negentiende eeuw en vermoedelijk rond 1910 met een verdieping verhoogd en bezit een parkachtige ruime zijtuin. Het geheel is gelegen nabij het klooster van de paters Kruisheren.
Omschrijving
Tweelaags dubbel huis onder plat dak, opgetrokken uit baksteen met op de verdieping een witte pleisterlaag. Het dak gaat aan de voorzijde schuil achter een kanteelachtige borstwering.
De begane grond van de beide panden telt acht traveeën, de verdieping heeft er zes. Op een gepleisterde plint met in het midden drie ruitvormige motieven bevinden zich respectievelijk twee ramen, een deur, twee ramen, een tweede deur en nogmaals twee ramen. Alle ramen, ook die van de verdieping hebben T-vormige stolpramen met achttienruits bovenlichten. De deuren zijn paneeldeuren uit ca. 1920-30 met sierroosters. Het platte dak gaat schuil achter een gekanteelde borstwering met in het midden twee frontonachtige versieringen en op de hoeken hogere kantelen. Aan de linkerzijde een eenlaags aanbouw onder mansardedak met kunstleien. Aan de rechterzijde eenvoudige T-ramen en een overstekende goot op klossen. Hier een aanbouw onder zadeldak met muldenpannen en een koetshuis onder zadeldak. De in landschapsstijl aangelegde tuin bevat en vele oudere bomen en heeft aan de straatzijde een smeed- en gietijzeren hek, deels met een hardstenen, deels met een betonnen voetmuur. Rechts tussen de voormalige school en het huis een smeedijzeren hek.
Waardering
Het dubbele herenhuis met tuin is van algemeen belang. Het heeft cultuurhistorisch belang als bijzondere uitdrukking van de sociaal-economische ontwikkeling, namelijk de stichting van deftige notabelenwoningen in het bestaande dorpsbeeld; het is tevens van belang als voorbeeld van de typologische ontwikkeling van het woonhuis. Het object is van architectuurhistorisch belang door de stijl en detaillering. Het huis is van belang vanwege de architectonische gaafheid van het exterieur. Two-storey double house under flat roof, constructed of brick with on the upper storey a white plaster layer. The roof is concealed on the front by a crenellated parapet wall.
The ground floor of both properties has eight bays, the upper storey has six. On a plastered plinth with in the centre three diamond-shaped motifs are respectively two windows, a door, two windows, a second door and again two windows. All windows, including those of the upper storey have T-shaped sash windows with eighteen-pane fanlights. The doors are panel doors from c. 1920-30 with decorative grilles. The flat roof is concealed by a crenellated parapet wall with in the centre two pediment-like ornaments and at the corners higher crenels. On the left side a single-storey extension under mansard roof with artificial slates. On the right side simple T-windows and an overhanging gutter on corbels. Here an extension under gabled roof with curved pantiles and a coach house under gabled roof. The garden laid out in landscape style contains many old trees and has on the street side a wrought and cast-iron fence, partly with a sandstone, partly with a concrete base wall. To the right between the former school and the house a wrought-iron fence.

The double mansion with garden is of general importance.
