Omschrijving onderdeel 3: TOEGANGSHEK MET HEKWERK (op de bijbehorende kaart aangegeven met nr. 3).
De 19de-eeuwse TOEGANGSBRUG tot het eiland waarop het hoofdgebouw Zwaluwenburg ligt bestaat uit twee rood bakstenen bruggenhoofden, waarop een uit houten delen samengesteld brugdek (van recente datum) ligt boven een ijzeren onderstel. Aan weerszijden van de brug staat een 19de-eeuws (thans wit geschilderd) gietijzeren leuning met balusters en regels. In het midden zijn aan twee hoge staanders twee draaibare, smeedijzeren vleugels bevestigd. De buitenzijden van de staanders zijn voorzien van zijstukken.

Description of component 3: ENTRANCE GATE WITH RAILINGS (indicated on the accompanying map with no. 3).
The 19th-century ENTRANCE BRIDGE to the island on which the main building Zwaluwenburg stands consists of two red brick bridge abutments, on which a deck composed of wooden elements (of recent date) lies above an iron framework. On both sides of the bridge stands a 19th-century (currently white-painted) cast-iron railing with balusters and rails. In the middle two rotating wrought-iron wings are attached to two tall posts. The outer sides of the posts are provided with side pieces.
