Inleiding
STAL met aangebouwd HOOIHUIS uit omstreeks 1912, achter elkaar gesitueerd op een lange smalle kavel aan de oostzijde van en haaks op de Dorpsstraat. De kavel wordt aan de oostzijde begrensd door een brede sloot. Het hooihuis staat direct aan deze sloot zodat het hooi vanuit boten in het hooihuis kon worden getast.
Omschrijving
In baksteen opgetrokken stal met aangebouwd houten hooihuis. De stal staat op een rechthoekig grondplan en bestaat uit één bouwlaag met pangedekt zadeldak. De gevels zijn gemetseld in rode baksteen. In de voorgevel (zijde Dorpsstraat) bevindt zich een dubbele staldeur en in beide zijgevels een reeks hooggeplaatste stalvensters.
De achterzijde van de stal sluit aan op het hooihuis dat op een vierkant grondplan is gebouwd en een inwendig houtskelet heeft. De vier gevels zijn boven een baksteen plint uitgevoerd in verticaal gerabat beschot. Het houtskelet bestaat uit een vierkant met tussen de zware hoekstijlen telkens vier tussenstijlen. Het hooihuis heeft een pangedekt tentdak met centrale makelaar in de top en een omgaande houten goot op klossen. De oostgevel die naar de sloot gericht is heeft drie laadluiken boven elkaar. De bovenste laadopening heeft dubbele deuren.
Waardering
De stal met aangebouwd hooihuis is van algemeen belang uit cultuur- en architectuurhistorisch oogpunt als gaaf bewaard voorbeeld van streekeigen agrarische bouwkunst uit het eerste kwart de 20ste eeuw. De gebouwen hebben tevens situationele waarde als onderdeel van het dorpsbeeld van Watergang waarvan het uniek geworden ruimtelijk beeld in hoge mate wordt bepaald door de silhouetten van diverse hooihuizen.

BARN with adjoining HAYBARN built circa 1912, situated one behind the other on a long narrow plot on the east side of and at right angles to the Dorpsstraat. The plot is bounded on the east side by a wide ditch. The haybarn stands directly at this ditch so that hay could be loaded into the haybarn from boats.
Description
Barn built in brick with adjoining timber haybarn. The barn stands on a rectangular plan and consists of one storey with pan-tiled gabled roof. The facades are built in red brick. In the front facade (side of Dorpsstraat) there is a double barn door and in both side facades a series of high-placed barn windows.
The rear of the barn adjoins the haybarn which is built on a square plan and has an internal timber frame. The four facades above a brick plinth are executed in vertical roughcast boarding. The timber frame consists of a square with four intermediate posts between the heavy corner posts. The haybarn has a pan-tiled hip roof with central roof ridge ornament at the top and a surrounding wooden gutter on corbels. The east facade facing the ditch has three loading doors one above the other. The uppermost loading opening has double doors.
Valuation
The barn with adjoining haybarn is of general importance from a cultural and architectural historical perspective as a well-preserved example of regional agricultural architecture from the first quarter of the 20th century. The buildings also have situational value as part of the village character of Watergang, the uniquely developed spatial image of which is determined to a high degree by the silhouettes of various haybarns.
