Inleiding
Betonnen WATERTOREN met waterreservoir, reinwaterbekkens, koelwaterinstallatie en sproeiveld met sproeiers, omstreeks 1915 gebouwd in Functionalistische bouwstijl.
Volgens het functionalistische principe wordt het bouwmateriaal -beton- en de constructie niet door andere materialen aan het oog onttrokken.
De watertoren ligt in een bocht van de P.C. Stamstraat tegenover het fabrieksterrein van de Nederlandsche Stoomblekerij. Waarschijnlijk heeft de toren deel uitgemaakt van dit complex. De toren, waarin zich een betonnen Intze-reservoir bevindt, verzorgde het koelwater voor machinerieën en deed tevens dienst als bluswaterreservoir.
Omschrijving
De watertoren bestaat uit een betonnen skeletconstructie met daarop een cilindervormig betonnen reservoir. Een vierkant betonnen gebouwtje van één bouwlaag omvat het onderste deel van de constructie. Dit gebouwtje met plat dak en overstekende goot heeft een dubbele deur en drie getoogde vensters met waterdorpels. Hierboven bestaat de dragende constructie uit acht pijlers, die ongeveer in het midden zijn verbonden door balken. De uitkragende cilindervormige reservoirommanteling is geleed door acht lisenen op een waterlijst; in de velden daartussen smalle gietijzeren rondboogvensters met een roedenverdeling en eenvoudige tracering.
De leidingen naar en van het reservoir bevinden zich midden in de open ruimte in de open schacht tussen de pijlers; om de standpijp onder het reservoir bevindt zich een ijzeren wenteltrap. De toren staat aan de noordzijde van het koelwaterbassin met sproei-/ beluchtingssinstallatie.

The water tower is located in a bend of the P.C. Stamstraat opposite the factory site of the Nederlandsche Stoomblekerij. The tower probably formed part of this complex. The tower, which contains a concrete Intze reservoir, supplied cooling water for machinery and also served as a fire-water reservoir.
Description
The water tower consists of a concrete skeleton frame with a cylindrical concrete reservoir on top. A square concrete single-storey building encloses the lower part of the structure. This building with a flat roof and overhanging gutter has a double door and three segmental arched windows with drip mouldings. Above this the supporting structure consists of eight piers, which are connected approximately in the middle by beams. The cantilevered cylindrical reservoir casing is articulated by eight pilasters on a drip moulding; in the fields between them narrow cast-iron semi-circular arched windows with glazing bar division and simple tracery.
The pipes to and from the reservoir are located in the middle of the open space in the open shaft between the piers; around the standpipe beneath the reservoir there is an iron spiral staircase. The tower stands on the north side of the cooling water basin with spray/aeration installation.
