Omschrijving onderdeel 6: SALPETERZUURGEBOUW (De Oude Molen 2).
Inleiding
Het SALPETERZUURGEBOUW is in ieder geval na 1907 gebouwd, vermoedelijk omstreeks 1918, tijdens de tweede fase van de nieuwe fabriek. Het gebouw ligt ten westen van de magazijnen en maakte onderdeel uit van de schietkatoenfabriek. Thans is het gebouw in gebruik als showroom en kantoor. Aan de west- en noordzijde is een forse, moderne uitbreiding aanwezig die dateert uit het laatste decennium van de twintigste eeuw.
Omschrijving
Het gebouw is gebouwd op rechthoekige grondslag. Het is gemetseld in kruisverband met machinale baksteen en wordt bekroond door een zadeldak bekleed met golfplaatmateriaal en voorzien van een opgehoogde ventilatiebeuk. Het pand is zeven traveeën lang en drie traveeën breed. De gevels worden geleed door getrapte steunberen met in de langsgevels hooggeplaatste, getoogde vensters met middenstijl. Aan de noordzijde zijn deze vensters dichtgezet. De zuidelijke langsgevel bezit op de begane grond twee gevelopeningen met openslaande deuren, die met glas zijn dichtgezet. De oostelijke kopgevel is voorzien van een ingang onder getoogde bovenlichten. Aan weerszijden kent de gevel getoogde vensters met middenstijl. In de top zijn twee smalle boogvensters aanwezig. De topgevel is afgedekt met zink.
De westelijke kopgevel toont een enigszins vergelijkbare situatie. Deze zijde bezit hooggeplaatste vensters met middenstijl. De ingang is aan deze zijde gekoppeld aan een glazen doorgang naar de moderne uitbreiding ten westen en noorden van het gebouw. In de top van de kopgevel zijn twee smalle boogvensters opgenomen. Het dak wordt gedragen door een constructie uit ijzeren polonceauspanten, die op de steunberen rusten.

Introduction
The NITRIC ACID BUILDING was constructed at the earliest after 1907, presumably around 1918, during the second phase of the new factory. The building is located west of the warehouses and was part of the smokeless powder factory. Currently the building is used as a showroom and office. On the west and north sides there is a substantial modern extension dating from the last decade of the twentieth century.
Description
The building is constructed on a rectangular plan. It is built in Flemish bond with machine-made brick and is crowned by a gabled roof covered with corrugated metal material and fitted with a raised ventilation section. The building is seven bays long and three bays wide. The façades are articulated by stepped buttresses with high-placed arched windows with central mullion in the long façades. These windows are blocked on the north side. The southern long façade has two wall openings on the ground floor with glazed opening doors. The eastern gable end is fitted with an entrance beneath arched fanlights. On both sides the façade has arched windows with central mullion. Two narrow arched windows are present at the top. The top gable is covered with zinc.
The western gable end shows a somewhat similar arrangement. This side has high-placed windows with central mullion. The entrance on this side is connected to a glazed passage leading to the modern extension to the west and north of the building. Two narrow arched windows are incorporated in the top of the gable end. The roof is supported by a structure of iron bow trusses resting on the buttresses.

The NITRIC ACID BUILDING is of general importance:
