Omschrijving
DOLFIJNTJE. Waterspuwend dolfijntje uit het eerste kwart van de 18de eeuw van Bentheimer zandsteen dat deel uitmaakt van de waterwerken die door J. van der Hoeven tussen 1715 en 1733 werden aangelegd. De dolfijn spuwde water dat uit de Schie kwam en dat middels een buizenstelsel -afgesloten door een koperen kraan- naar de dolfijn geleid werd. De dolfijn is in 1997 gerestaureerd.

Description
DOLPHIN SPOUT. Water-spouting small dolphin made of Bentheim sandstone from the first quarter of the 18th century which forms part of the water features installed by J. van der Hoeven between 1715 and 1733. The dolphin spouted water that came from the Schie and which was directed to the dolphin by means of a pipe system - closed by a copper tap. The dolphin was restored in 1997.
