Het zuidelijke deel van Velder bestaat uit een achttiende-eeuws complex van sterrenbossen, omringd door een dubbele rondweg met greppel. Het centrale gedeelte draagt de naam 'De Negen Dreven'. Rond dit centrum liep een tweede, grotendeels nog complete rondweg. Binnen de grote structuur van het sterrenbos zijn nog verschillende lanenstelsels met sterstructuur herkenbaar. De noord-zuid as van het sterrenbos biedt zicht op een hoek van het huis Heerenbeek. Aan deze as staat, bij de zuidelijke rand, een boerderij (5). Het gehele complex van sterrenbossen is voorzien van laanbeplantingen, ingevuld met verschillende soorten hakhout, productiebos en wei- en akkerland. De precieze invulling met groene elementen van de percelen tussen de lanen is relatief arbitrair te noemen en heeft door de eeuwen heen gewisseld zodat een benoeming van de situatie ten tijde van de bescherming niet geschiedt. Een uitloper van de lanenstructuren vormt de laan die bij het huis (1) uitkomt. Het noordelijke deel van Velder bestaat uit twee gedeeltes aan weerszijden van de oprijlaan. De oprijlaan is grotendeels beplant met een dubbele rij eiken. Het huis staat ten noordwesten van de laan en heeft naar voren een zicht op een weiland, naar achteren een zicht op het eigenlijke park. Het weiland bestaat korter dan het eigenlijke park aan de westzijde: blijkens de top. kaarten van 1895-1896/1908 en id., 1921 (uitg. 1928) was er toen nog bos. Het park is waarschijnlijk ongeveer gelijktijdig met het huis gesticht en een ontwerp van de tuinarchitect W.F. Maréchal. Het park bestaat uit een langwerpig omgracht perceel. Belangrijkste onderdeel is een slingerende vijver met ten noorden daarvan bosschages met smalle slingerpaden. Ten zuiden van de vijver is een gazon met al dan niet solitaire (rode) beuken, sequoia's, moerascypressen en andere meer of minder exotische bomen. Het park is vrij open met een goed zicht vanuit het huis over de slingerende vijver naar een kleine verhoging in het westen. Op het gazon achter het huis bevinden zich een ijzeren tuinbeeld (6) en twee marmeren portretbustes (7).
Waardering
De achttiende en negentiende-eeuwse aanleg van Velder is van algemeen belang vanwege:
- het achttiende-eeuwse sterrenbos, bestaande uit een centraal sterrenbos met negen lanen, in- en aangevuld met andere lanen (en een wisselende groene invulling van de vakken tussen de lanen, deels open, deels gesloten en in zijn totaliteit afgestemd op het functioneren van de buitenplaats); het landschappelijk aangelegde park met slingerende vijver, gazon, bosschages, clumps en solitaire bomen, ontworpen door W.F. Description
The southern part of Velder consists of an eighteenth-century complex of star forests, surrounded by a double ring-road with drainage ditch. The central section bears the name 'De Negen Dreven'. Around this centre ran a second, largely still complete ring-road. Within the large structure of the star forest various lane systems with star structure are still recognisable. The north-south axis of the star forest offers a view to a corner of the house Heerenbeek. On this axis stands, at the southern edge, a farm (5). The entire complex of star forests is provided with avenue plantings, filled with various types of coppice, production forest and meadow and arable land. The precise filling with green elements of the parcels between the lanes can be termed relatively arbitrary and has varied over the centuries so that a designation of the situation at the time of protection does not occur. An offshoot of the lane structures forms the lane which reaches the house (1). The northern part of Velder consists of two sections on either side of the driveway. The driveway is mostly planted with a double row of oaks. The house stands to the northwest of the lane and faces forward onto a meadow, facing backward onto the actual park. The meadow extends shorter than the actual park on the west side: according to the topographical maps of 1895-1896/1908 and id., 1921 (published 1928) there was still forest then. The park was probably founded approximately at the same time as the house and is a design by landscape architect W.F. Maréchal. The park consists of an elongated moated parcel. The principal component is a meandering pond with to the north thereof copses with narrow winding paths. To the south of the pond is a lawn with more or less solitary (red) beeches, sequoias, swamp cypresses and other more or less exotic trees. The park is fairly open with good views from the house over the meandering pond towards a small elevation in the west. On the lawn behind the house there are an iron garden sculpture (6) and two marble portrait busts (7).

- the eighteenth-century star forest, consisting of a central star forest with nine lanes, filled in and added to with other lanes (and a varying green filling of the sections between the lanes, partly open, partly closed and in its totality attuned to the functioning of the country estate); the landscaped park with meandering pond, lawn, copses, clumps and solitary trees, designed by W.F. Maréchal; in the spirit of the times various exotic trees were used in the planting; the sight lines from the house over the park with pond and over the meadow on the east side;
- ensemble values on account of the functional and visual coherence between star forest, park, driveway, house and other elements;
- integrity of the park layout;
- rarity of parks by landscape architect Maréchal; rarity of eighteenth-century star forests on this large scale.
