Omschrijving
Het huis is in 1878 gebouwd in opdracht van het echtpaar Van Boeckel van Rumpt-van der Heyden. Het is een blokvormig huis onder een met pannen gedekt afgeplat schilddak. Het huis is in baksteen opgetrokken en voorzien van een plint. Op het dak bevindt zich een achtzijdige dakruiter voorzien van een koepeldak. De voorgevel telt vijf traveeën en is rijk gedecoreerd. Centraal bevindt zich de ingang met omlijsting en erboven een balkon, rustend op figuratieve consoles en voorzien van siersmeedwerk. Aan weerszijden van de entree bevinden zich twee fenêtres à terre voorzien van bovenlicht met afgeronde hoeken. Ze zijn gevat in een omlijsting voorzien van kuifmotief. Op de verdieping bevinden zich vensters en in het midden balkondeuren, op dezelfde wijze omlijst als de gevelopeningen van de begane grond. Ter hoogte van de onderdorpels van de vensters is een omlopende band aangebracht. De gevel wordt afgesloten met een decoratieve kroonlijst met consoles. Daarnaast heeft de gevel ook verticale accenten in de vorm van (deels geblokte) pilasters. Verder bevindt zich aan de linkergevel een grote, later toegevoegde serre met afgeronde hoeken.
Voor het huis, aan de oprijlaan, bevinden zich hardstenen palen, vroeger voorzien van kettingen.
Waardering
Het in 1878 gebouwde huis is van algemeen belang vanwege:
- het bouwtype blokvormig huis met symmetrische voor- en achtergevel; de afwisseling van verticale en horizontale accenten (hoge vensters, pilasters, omlijstingen, plint, band en kroonlijst); de eclectische detaillering, onder andere van de vensteromlijstingen met kuifmotief en afgeronde hoeken van de bovenlichten; detaillering en materiaalgebruik zijn typerend voor de bouwtijd;
- de gaafheid van het exterieur;
- de ensemblewaarden vanwege de visuele en functionele samenhang met park, oprijlaan en bijgebouwen.

Description
The house was built in 1878 on commission of the married couple Van Boeckel van Rumpt-van der Heyden. It is a block-shaped house under a hipped roof covered with tiles and flattened at the top. The house is built in brick and provided with a plinth. On the roof there is an octagonal roof turret provided with a dome roof. The front facade has five bays and is richly decorated. Centrally there is the entrance with surround and above it a balcony, resting on figurative consoles and provided with ornamental ironwork. On either side of the entrance there are two fenêtres à terre provided with fanlight with rounded corners. They are set in a surround provided with a cushion motif. On the upper storey there are windows and in the middle balcony doors, in the same manner surrounded as the facade openings of the ground floor. At the height of the under-sills of the windows a continuous band is applied. The facade is finished with a decorative cornice with consoles. Furthermore the facade also has vertical accents in the form of (partly blocked) pilasters. Also on the left gable there is a large, later added conservatory with rounded corners.
In front of the house, on the driveway, there are hard stone posts, formerly provided with chains.
