Inleiding
Het bij de buitenplaats Beukenhorst behorende TOEGANGSHEK (5) in neoclassicistische trant daterend uit het midden van de 19de eeuw. Het bevindt zich aan de Zijdeweg en is de tegenhanger van de tweede entree aan de Rijksstraatweg, die toegang geeft tot de gebogen oprijlaan naar het landhuis.
Omschrijving
Een uit smeedijzer bestaand toegangshek met gietijzeren sierstukken, bestaat uit een spijlen hekwerk, gehangen in geschoorde, eenvoudig opengewerkte staande rechthoekige wangen. Aan de bovenzijde is in een klein rechthoekig veld de naam: BEUKEN - HORST aangebracht met vergulde letters. Het wordt bekroond door een fries met eierlijst, waarop een akroterie is geplaatst.

Het toegangshek is van algemeen algemeen belang vanwege cultuur- en architectuurhistorisch waarde:
- als voorbeeld van een karakteristiek ijzeren toegangshek uit het midden van de 19de eeuw in neoclassicistische trant;
- vanwege de gave hoofdvorm, materiaalgebruik en detaillering;

The ACCESS GATE (5) belonging to the country estate Beukenhorst in neoclassical style dating from the middle of the 19th century. It is located on the Zijdeweg and is the counterpart of the second entrance on the Rijksstraatweg, which provides access to the curved drive to the country house.
Description
An access gate made of wrought iron with cast iron decorative pieces, consisting of a picket fence work, hung in braced, simply open-worked rectangular standing sides. At the top, in a small rectangular field, the name: BEUKEN - HORST is set with gilded letters. It is crowned by a frieze with egg-and-dart moulding, on which an acroterion is placed.
