Inleiding
De Hoven, gelegen aan de overkant van de IJssel, is in aanleg een uit de zeventiende eeuw daterend tuinengebied. Deventenaren richtten hier in de vorige eeuw ontspannings- en moestuinen in. Een gebruikelijk onderdeel van deze cultuur vormde het genieten van een kopje thee in een speciaal daartoe gebouwde theekoepel, onderwijl genietend van het uitzicht. In het gebied komen meerdere theekoepels voor. Deze THEEKOEPEL dateert van rond 1860 en is uitgevoerd in Neo-Classicistische stijl.
De koepel staat op een verhoging omdat de laag gelegen Hoven wel eens overstroomden en omdat dit een goed uitzicht verschaft. Van het uitzicht is nu niet meer te genieten, de koepel staat in de tuin van een eengezinswoning.
Omschrijving
Zeshoekige theekoepel op een stenen basement met stoep onder een uitzwenkend tentdak. De gootlijst met overstek steunt op ijzeren consoles. De blinde rugzijde is gemetseld in baksteen. Haaks op de rug twee deels gemetselde deels houten gevels. De overige drie zijden zijn in hout uitgevoerd. In de vijf houten geveldelen glasdeuren tussen pilasters, verbonden door een rondboog met kuif, met halfrond bovenlicht met radiale sierroeden.

Introduction
De Hoven, situated on the opposite bank of the IJssel, is in layout a pleasure and vegetable garden area dating from the seventeenth century. Deventerians established recreation and vegetable gardens here in the previous century. A customary element of this culture was the enjoyment of a cup of tea in a specially built tea pavilion, while enjoying the view. Several tea pavilions are found in the area. This TEA PAVILION dates from around 1860 and is executed in Neo-Classical style.
The pavilion stands on a raised platform because the low-lying Hoven occasionally flooded and because this provided a good view. The view is now no longer to be enjoyed; the pavilion stands in the garden of a detached house.
Description
Hexagonal tea pavilion on a stone basement with a terrace under a sweeping tent roof. The gutter moulding with overhang is supported on iron brackets. The blind rear side is built in brick. Perpendicular to the rear, two partly built partly wooden facades. The remaining three sides are executed in wood. In the five wooden facade sections glass doors between pilasters, connected by a round-arch with hood, with semicircular fanlight with radial ornamental glazing bars.
