Inleiding
Dit HERENHUIS is gebouwd in ca. 1915 naar ontwerp van K.P.C. de Bazel of diens medewerkers/opvolgers A.P. Smits en C. van der Linde.
Het woonhuis is nu in gebruik als kantoor. Het kwalitatief zeer hoogwaardige interieur op de begane grond is onaangetast gebleven. Aan de oostzijde is een ontsierende aanbouw gemaakt die voor de waardering als beschermd monument van ondergeschikt belang is. De originele dakbedekking is vervangen door rode shingles.
Omschrijving
Woonhuis opgetrokken over twee bouwlagen in bruine machinale baksteen vanuit een rechthoekige plattegrond met risalieten en veelhoekige erkers onder een samengesteld schilddak met een lichte concave welving aan de onderzijde waardoor een overstek is ontstaan. Rondom loopt ter hoogte van de balkons een fries van uitgemetselde geometrische motieven. Alle vensters hebben negenruits bovenlichten.
Centraal in de voorgevel (N) de entree onder een portiek die het balkon van de verdieping vormt. Rechts een halfronde erker met eveneens een balkonbalustrade. In de erker vijf vensters. Links van de entree een drielichtvenster. Op de verdieping van links naar rechts een drielicht-, twee tweelichtvensters en een balkondeurpartij. In het dakschild drie dakkapellen. Op de rechter hoek een balkon op kolommen, links een uitbouw met eenzelfde balkon.
Aan de linkerzijgevel (O) de moderne uitbouw.
De achtergevel heeft een middenrisaliet met op de begane grond een venster-/deurpartij en op de verdieping een balkon.
Aan weerszijden van het risaliet op de begane grond een tweelichtvenster en op de verdieping twee vensters. In het dakschild verschillende o.a. halfronde dakkapellen.
In de rechter zijgevel (W) in het midden een halfronde erker met balkonbalustrade en links het bij de voorgevel genoemde hoekbalkon op kolommen.
Op de begane grond zijn alle vertrekken behalve de (bij)keuken in originele staat. De hoofdvertrekken hebben houten lambrizeringen en stucplafonds. Garderobe en toilet zijn bekleed met roze marmer.
Waardering
Woonhuis van cultuurhistorisch, architectuurhistorisch en stedebouwkundig belang:
- als een der laatste redelijke intact gebleven onderdelen van het stadsuitbreidingsplan De Stadsmaten uit 1907

The dwelling house is now in use as an office. The qualitatively very high-quality interior on the ground floor has remained untouched. On the east side a disfiguring extension has been made which is of secondary importance for the valuation as a protected monument. The original roof covering has been replaced with red shingles.
Description
Dwelling house constructed over two storeys in brown machine-made brick from a rectangular floor plan with risalits and polygonal oriels under a composite hipped roof with a slight concave curve on the underside creating an overhang. Running round at the height of the balconies is a frieze of mortared geometric motifs. All windows have nine-pane fanlights.
Central in the front facade (N) the entrance under a portico which forms the upper storey balcony. To the right a half-round oriel likewise with a balcony balustrade. In the oriel five windows. To the left of the entrance a three-light window. On the upper storey from left to right a three-light window, two two-light windows and a balcony-door section. In the roof panel three roof dormers. On the right corner a balcony on columns, on the left an extension with an identical balcony.
On the left side facade (O) the modern extension.
The rear facade has a central risalit with on the ground floor a window/door section and on the upper storey a balcony.
On either side of the risalit on the ground floor a two-light window and on the upper storey two windows. In the roof panel various including half-round roof dormers.
In the right side facade (W) in the middle a half-round oriel with balcony balustrade and on the left the corner balcony on columns mentioned at the front facade.
On the ground floor all rooms except the (scullery) kitchen are in original condition. The principal rooms have wooden wainscoting and stucco ceilings. Wardrobe and toilet are clad with pink marble.
