PARKAANLEG, bestaande uit
a. lanen
b. terrein binnen de gracht
c. moestuin en voorterrein
d. weilanden
ad a.: er zijn twee lanen: de oprijlaan en de beukenlaan; beide tracées XVIII of ouder. De oprijlaan loopt in visuele zin vanaf de weg recht op het kasteel af; in fysieke zin buigt hij na de Molenbeek af naar de toegangsbrug (zie onder 4); het rechte stuk tussen de weg en de beek is geasfalteerd en beplant met linden, die in een tunnelvorm gesnoeid zijn; langs de linden een lage meidoornhaag. De beukenlaan begint in de bocht van de oprijlaan, loopt eerst oostwaarts en dan via een haakse bocht in noordelijke richting naar de Geul, waar hij eindigt; hij heeft een puin-grindverharding.
ad b.: het terrein binnen de gracht bestaat uit twee eilanden: het kasteeleiland en het eiland, waarop de bijgebouwen rond het voorplein staan, met uitzondering van de watermolen; de eilanden zijn verbonden door een brug (zie onder 4); de gracht heeft de vorm van een 8. Aan de voorzijde van het kasteel ligt een moderne tuin; de rest van het eiland bestaat uit gras met een enkele solitairboom: het restant van een landschappelijke aanleg. De inrichting van het eiland met de bijgebouwen is modern en aangepast aan de horeca-bestemming van de gebouwen; slecht twee oudere solitairen resteren.
ad c.: de moestuin ligt ten westen van de oprijlaan tussen de weg en de Molenbeek en is omringd door een meidoornhaag; er is een nieuwe bestemming, nl. heemtuin; alleen de plek en de oude haag van de moestuin zijn derhalve beschermd. Het zgn. voorterrein ligt ten noorden van de moestuin tussen de gracht en de beek; het bestaat uit een parkeerterrein en een nieuw aangelegde bloementuin, die niet beschermenswaard is; naast de parkeerplaats staan twee oude monumentale paardekastanjes; verder nog enkele oude bomen.
ad d.: de rest van het complexgebied, i.e. het gebied buiten de gracht, tussen de beukelaan en de beide beken, Geul en Molenbeek, met uitzondering van het genoemde voorterrein, bestaat uit lichtgeaccidenteerde weilanden, waarvan een groot deel vroeger boomgaard was; hier en daar staan nog fruitbomen; verder staan er met name ten noorden van het kasteel ook nog solitaire loof- en naaldbomen.

Re a.: there are two avenues: the drive and the beech avenue; both alignments 18th century or older. The drive runs in visual terms straight from the road towards the castle; in physical terms it bends after the Molenbeek towards the access bridge (see under 4); the straight section between the road and the brook is asphalted and planted with lime trees, which are trimmed in tunnel form; along the limes a low hawthorn hedge. The beech avenue begins in the bend of the drive, runs first eastwards and then via a right-angled bend in northerly direction towards the Geul, where it ends; it has a gravel surface.
Re b.: the terrain within the moat consists of two islands: the castle island and the island, on which the outbuildings around the forecourt stand, with the exception of the water mill; the islands are connected by a bridge (see under 4); the moat has the shape of a figure 8. In front of the castle lies a modern garden; the rest of the island consists of grass with a single specimen tree: the remainder of a landscape design. The layout of the island with the outbuildings is modern and adapted to the catering use of the buildings; only two older specimen trees remain.
Re c.: the kitchen garden lies to the west of the drive between the road and the Molenbeek and is surrounded by a hawthorn hedge; it has a new purpose, namely heritage garden; only the location and the old hedge of the kitchen garden are therefore protected. The so-called forecourt lies to the north of the kitchen garden between the moat and the brook; it consists of a car park and a newly laid out flower garden, which is not worthy of protection; next to the car park stand two old monumental horse chestnuts; further still several old trees.
Re d.: the rest of the complex area, i.e. the area outside the moat, between the beech avenue and the two brooks, Geul and Molenbeek, with the exception of the aforementioned forecourt, consists of gently undulating meadows, of which a large part was formerly orchard; scattered fruit trees still stand here; further there are in particular to the north of the castle also solitary deciduous and coniferous trees.
