Omgracht KASTEEL, in wezen 16e eeuws en later: jaartalankers 1656 in westgevel; in 1893 en -94 door Cuypers ingrijpend gerestaureerd en veranderd; het huis ligt op een eiland en heeft een rechthoekige plattegrond en is opgetrokken in mergel; twee verdiepingen op hoog onderhuis onder leiengedekt wolfdak; op de hoeken van de oostgevel achthoekige arkeltorentjes, aan de voorgevel (= zuidgevel) een rond arkeltorentje, dat één verdieping lager ontspringt dan de beide andere. Meerruitsvensters. Op de noordwesthoek een ronde hoektoren met octagonale spits. Aan voorzijde toegangstrap op L-plattegrond met bordes naar belle-etage; rijke smeedijzeren leunigen, recent geheel gerestaureerd.

Moated CASTLE, essentially 16th century and later: date anchors 1656 in west gable; in 1893 and -94 extensively restored and altered by Cuypers; the house stands on an island and has a rectangular plan and is built in marl; two storeys on high basement under slate-covered half-hipped roof; on the corners of the east gable octagonal corner towers, on the front gable (= south gable) a round corner tower, which springs at one storey lower than the two other towers. Mullioned windows. On the northwest corner a round corner tower with octagonal spire. At the front an access staircase on L-shaped plan with terrace leading to belle-étage; rich wrought-iron railings, recently fully restored.
