Omschrijving
Het BAARHUIS is in rode baksteen opgetrokken op een rechthoekige plattegrond over één bouwlaag onder een zadeldak met leien in Maasdekking en een uitkragende goot.
In de voorgevel (O) risaleert de centrale ingangspartij onder een hoger opgetrokken trapgevel. Ook de zijgevels zijn trapgevels. De dubbele opgeklampte deur met bovenlicht en de vensters zijn geplaatst onder keperbogen die in een gele verblendsteen zijn uitgevoerd. Verder zijn de gevels voorzien van sierankers en de toppen van de trapgevels van korte lisenen op consoles met een bekroning van zandstenen obelisken. In de eindgevels op de begane grond grote vensters met bovenlichten tussen smalle kleine vensters, in de voorgevel en geveltoppen vensters met roedenverdeling en in de achtergevel boven de muur kleine smalle vensters.

Description
The MORTUARY CHAPEL is erected in red brick on a rectangular floor plan over one storey under a gabled roof with slates in Dutch bond and a projecting gutter.
In the front facade (O) the central entrance section projects under a taller stepped gable. The side facades are also stepped gables. The double hinged door with fanlight and the windows are placed under herringbone-pattern arches which are executed in yellow facing brick. Furthermore the facades are provided with ornamental wall anchors and the tops of the stepped gables with short pilasters on brackets with crowning sandstone obelisks. In the end facades on the ground floor large windows with fanlights between narrow small windows, in the front facade and gable tops windows with glazing bars and in the rear facade above the wall small narrow windows.
Valuation
The mortuary chapel is of general cultural, architectural history and urban planning importance:
- as an exponent of the building boom of Catholic buildings after the restoration of the Papal hierarchy in 1853
- because of the functional and spatial relationship with the other buildings and objects on the cemetery
- because of the Eclectic building style with elements from the Neo-Dutch Renaissance
