Omschrijving
De AANLEG van Heidestein bestaat uit een aantal deelgebieden binnen een eenvoudige landschappelijke aanleg. Deze bestaat hoofdzakelijk uit bosgebied beplant met grove den en Douglassparren waarbinnen een paden- en lanenstelsel. Hierbinnen zijn de volgende deelgebieden te onderscheiden:
- Oprijlaan naar en aanleg bij het landhuis. De gebogen oprijlaan, gemarkeerd door twee gemetselde zuiltjes waarin de naam HEIDE-STEIN, leidt vanaf de portierswoning naar het landhuis. Rondom het landhuis bevindt zich een eenvoudige aanleg van met beplanting omgeven grasvelden. Acher het landhuis een terras met trappen naar een dergelijk grasveld, waarin een pad, rond terras en rechthoekige vijver van flagstones. In deze aanleg is gebruik gemaakt van hoogteverschillen.
- Een nutsgedeelte in het noordwestelijke deel bestaande uit twee schapenweiden en een moestuin. Dit geheel door een laan omgeven. Rondom zijn de stallen en de tuinmanswoning gegroepeerd en in het midden van de weiden ligt de schaapskooi.
- Vijver met eiland, aarden wal en waterloop. De vijver is in 1910 gegraven in opdracht van Jonkheer De Wetstijn Pfister en heeft een onregelmatige, slingerachtige vorm. Ongeveer in het midden bevindt zich een eiland. Het uitgegraven zand werd opgeworpen aan de zuidzijde van de vijver, zodat een aarden wal ontstond die ongeveer evenwijdig loopt aan de zuidelijke oever. In deze wal werden drie betonnen tunneltjes aangelegd, alsmede een ijskelder. Het boven de ijskelder gebouwde reservoir met theekoepel steken boven de aarden wal uit. De vijver wordt gevoed door een -thans droogliggende- kanaalvormige beek, die ongeveer een kilometer ten oosten van de vijver ontsprong en aan de oostkant aansluit op de vijver. Over deze kanaalvormige beek liggen twee bruggen, waarvan de brede langs de vijver gelegen is, en de andere een paar honderd meter oostwaarts ligt.
- Voorts nog herkenbaar aanwezig zijn de plek waar een betonnen tennisbaan heeft gelegen bij het tennishuisje en het pris d'eau achter het zwembad.
Waardering
De aanleg is van algemeen belang wegens zijn cultuurhistorische waarde vanwege de ontwikkelingsgeschiedenis van het landgoed Heidestein alsmede van architectuurhistorische waarde vanwege de opmerkelijke verschijning van de diverse gebouwtypen. Tevens is de aanleg van ensemblewaarde vanwege de relatie met de objecten, met name de schuren, tunneltjes, ijskelder met waterreservoir annex theehuis en de bruggen.

Description
The LAYOUT of Heidestein consists of a number of sub-areas within a simple landscape layout. This consists mainly of woodland planted with Scots pine and Douglas fir within which a system of paths and lanes. The following sub-areas can be distinguished within this:
- Access drive to and layout at the country house. The curved access drive, marked by two brick pillars bearing the name HEIDE-STEIN, leads from the lodge to the country house. Around the country house there is a simple layout of lawns surrounded by planting. Behind the country house a terrace with steps to such a lawn, in which a path, round terrace and rectangular pond of flagstones. Height differences have been used in this layout.
- A utility area in the north-western part consisting of two sheep pastures and a vegetable garden. This whole surrounded by a lane. Around it are grouped the stables and the gardener's cottage and in the middle of the pastures lies the sheep house.
- Pond with island, earthen embankment and water course. The pond was dug in 1910 on commission of Baron De Wetstein Pfister and has an irregular, winding form. Approximately in the middle there is an island. The excavated sand was thrown up on the south side of the pond, thus creating an earthen embankment that runs approximately parallel to the southern shore. The layout is of general importance due to its cultural historical value because of the development history of the country estate Heidestein as well as of architectural historical value due to the remarkable appearance of the diverse building types. The layout is furthermore of ensemble value because of the relationship with the objects, in particular the barns, small tunnels, ice house with water reservoir as well as tea pavilion and the bridges.
