Inleiding
Dubbel WOONHUIS, in 1920 gebouwd als dokterswoningen bij de krankzinnigeninrichting St. Bavo. De Overgangsarchitectuur is sterk verwant, zij het minder rijk geornamenteerd, aan de bouwstijl van het hoofgebouw en de kapel. De grote serre tegen de achtergevel van het huis is van later datum. Inwendig is het pand doorgebroken en gemoderniseerd.
Omschrijving
Gespiegeld dubbel woonhuis van twee bouwlagen onder een afgeknot schilddak met rode Hollandse pannen gedekt. Gevels opgetrokken in bruine baksteen, voorzien van horizontale sierbanden in gele strengperssteen. Cordonlijsten en onderdorpels van hardsteen. Hoog opgaande middenpartijen met halfronde erkers en balkons met gemetselde borstwering eindigend in grote gemetselde dakkapellen onder schilddakjes.
Rechtgesloten vensters met roedenverdeling in de bovenlichten. Entrees in rechtgesloten (nr.10) en rondboogvormige (nr.8) portieken. Achtergevel met grote aangebouwde serre en op de hoeken éénlaags bijkeukens onder plat dak. Gemetselde schoorstenen in de dakschilden boven de zijgevels.

Double RESIDENTIAL HOUSE, built in 1920 as doctors' residences at the St. Bavo mental hospital. The Transitional architecture is closely related, albeit less richly ornamented, to the building style of the main building and the chapel. Description
Mirrored double residential house of two storeys under a truncated hipped roof covered with red Dutch tiles. Facades built in brown brick, furnished with horizontal decorative bands in yellow pressed brick. Cornice lines and window sills of hard stone. High-rising central sections with semicircular bay windows and balconies with masonry parapets ending in large masonry roof dormers under small hipped roofs.
Right-angled windows with glazing bars in the fanlights. Entrances in right-angled (no.10) and round-arched (no.8) porches. Rear facade with large attached conservatory and on the corners single-storey sculleries under flat roof. Masonry chimneys in the roof slopes above the side facades.
