Inleiding
WOONHUIS, in 1915 gebouwd als rectorswoning bij de krankzinnigeninrichting St. Bavo. De Overgangsarchitecuur is sterk verwant, zij het minder rijk geornamenteerd, aan de bouwstijl van het hoofgebouw en de kapel. De grote serre tegen de achtergevel van het huis dateert uit 1925 en is ontworpen door Jos Bekkers. Het interieur van de begane grond verkeert in vrijwel oorspronkelijke staat.
Omschrijving
WOONHUIS van één bouwlaag op rechthoekige plattegrond onder een samengesteld schild-zadeldak met rode Hollandse pannen gedekt. Aan de achterzijde een grote aangebouwde rechthoekige serre onder plat dak. De in bruine baksteen opgetrokken gevels zijn voorzien van hardstenen cordonlijsten, lateien en onderdorpels en siermetselwerk in gele strengperssteen. Iets teruggelegen entree met hardstenen stoep centraal in de voorgevel (west).
Oorspronkelijke houten deur. Rechts van de entree een risaliet met puntgevel onder steekkap. Tegen het risaliet een halfronde erker en daarboven een balkon met balustrade. Rechtgesloten begane grondvensters met roedenverdeling in de bovenlichten. Dubbele balkondeur met glas onder een segmentboogvormig bovenlicht. In de geveltop van het risaliet een tegeltableau met de naam "Boekhorst". Vrijwel in oorspronkelijke staat verkerend/hersteld interieur op de begane grond met onder meer in de gang en keuken tegelvloeren in patroon, originele lambrizeringen en deuren met architraven, kamer-en-suite, oorspronkelijke vaste kasten in de keuken.

Description
RESIDENCE of one storey on rectangular plan beneath a composite hipped-gabled roof covered with red Dutch tiles. On the rear side a large attached rectangular conservatory beneath flat roof. The facades constructed in brown brick are furnished with stone string courses, lintels and sills and decorative brickwork in yellow pressed brick. Slightly recessed entrance with stone step central to the front facade (west).
Original wooden door. To the right of the entrance a risalit with pointed gable beneath a saddle roof. Against the risalit a semicircular bay window and above it a balcony with balustrade. Flush ground-floor windows with glazing bars in the fanlights. Double balcony door with glass beneath a segmental-arch-shaped fanlight. In the gable top of the risalit a tile tableau with the name "Boekhorst". Interior on the ground floor in virtually original condition/restored with among others in the hall and kitchen patterned tile floors, original dado panelling and doors with architraves, suite of rooms, original fitted cupboards in the kitchen.
