Inleiding.
Woonhuis gebouwd rond 1890 in Eclectische stijl en gelegen op het oude havengebied van Meppel. Inmiddels is het in gebruik als kantoor. Vanwege de ligging ten opzichte van Bleekerseiland 9 ontstaat een klein driehoekig parkje.
Omschrijving.
Op min of meer rechthoekig grondplan gebouwd woonhuis van een bouwlaag en met pannen belegd zadeldak. Asymmetrische bakstenen voorgevel met plint, speklagen en aanzet- en sluitstenen boven de openingen. De symmetrische topgevel wordt ingeleid door een cordonlijst en omvat diverse sierstukken (neo-Renaissancistische elementen).
Waardering
Woonhuis van cultuurhistorisch architectuurhistorisch en stedebouwkundig belang vanwege de oorspronkelijk functionele relatie met het havengebied, de vormgeving en het materiaalgebruik en de beeldbepalende ligging op het Bleekerseiland. Qua exterieur betreft grotendeels gaaf.
