Description
Description
Approximately in the middle of the site, at a considerable distance from the Amersfoortseweg, stands a MAIN HOUSE on a composite floor plan. The house has two storeys beneath gabled roofs and is covered with red cross tiles. The various building components differ from each other in height and ridge direction. Three building masses have the ridge direction perpendicular to the road, two run parallel. The gable ends are clad with vertical wooden sections and furnished with makelaars. The windows are provided with shutters. The facades are rendered in white except for several horizontal bands and relieving arches above the windows. The building has various chimneys. The south-east side is to be considered the front facade. Against the right building section is positioned the entrance section with tower. This comprises two storeys beneath a tent roof with a wooden bell tower under a small gabled roof. In the tower is a large leaded glass window that provides light to the stairwell. The main entrance has a door beneath a canopy with a segment-arched fanlight above it. To the right of the entrance is a three-sided bay window. In the second storey are two windows. The left building section has a symmetrical facade arrangement with in the first storey French doors with fanlights and in the second storey two sash windows.
The east facade, situated on the side of the Amersfoortseweg, consists on the left of a gable end and on the right a closed veranda beneath a gabled roof with the ridge parallel to the road. The gable end contains in the first storey French doors with fanlight and in the second storey a large window. The north facade consists of a gable end on the left side and a straight-ended facade on the right side. The gable end has on the left a lower eaves height since the veranda of the east facade is roofed over on this side. Against the gable end is placed a bay window with a four-light window with leaded glass arrangement. Above it are two windows placed. The right part of the north facade steps back slightly and is built up higher on the right. The rear facade (west) is characterised by two gable ends between which a recessed central section is placed. This building component is at the height of the first storey up to the gable ends closed off and provided with a three-sided bay window with a balcony. The left gable end contains in the second storey French doors that provide access to a wooden balcony on brackets constructed in front of the facade. In the peak are two windows fitted. The right gable end contains in each storey a window. The south facade consists on the right of a gable end and on the left of a facade section with on the ground floor two bay windows, the left one of which wraps around the corner and the right one is executed as a plant conservatory. Between them is placed a door. The second storey consists of a wooden superstructure with in the middle a three-sided bay window beneath a raised roof section. On the right are three-light tilting windows fitted. On the left is an internal balcony to be found. The interior layout is original. The vestibule provides access to the hall with the stairwell and corridors to the various rooms, such as the salon, the dining room, the living room, the office and the study. At the rear are the kitchen areas located. The living room has a view of the main entrance. From the dining room and the veranda there is a view onto the meadow. The bay windows offer views of the landscape around the house. The living room has stained leaded glass windows and a fireplace with brown marble columns. The floors are laid with parquet and against the walls lambris has been applied. In the dining room a reused Rococo fireplace is placed with an eighteenth-century fireback depicting virtus (virtue), Hercules, Jupiter and voluptas (luxury). On either side are placed eighteenth-century manganese-coloured tile tableaux, depicting Willem I and Frederik on horseback.
