Omschrijving complexonderdeel 1
Een op enige afstand van de openbare weg gelegen WATERTOREN gebouwd in 1902-1903 op een kunstmatige aarden verhoging naar ontwerp van de firma Visser & Smit. De toren heeft een cilindervorm die taps toeloopt. De toren is in baksteen met natuurstenen accenten opgetrokken. De torenschacht bestaat uit drie geledingen. De ingang bevindt zich aan de Woestduinlaanzijde en wordt gevormd door een aanbouw onder zadeldak. De voorzijde hiervan heeft een uitkragende tuitgevelvorm gekregen. Op de middenas is een eenvoudige deur met rondboogvormig bovenlicht gezet. Bo ven de deur bevindt zich een eerste steen met de tekst: `De eerste steen gelegd door...(niet leesbaar), 9 november 1902'. De eerste geleding van de torenschacht wordt door middel van een brede natuurstenen, uitkragende band afgesloten. Hierboven is het hoog opgaande middelste deel van de schacht op diverse plaatsen voorzien van kleine rondboogvensters. De tweede geleding wordt door een rondboogfries afgesloten. Hierboven kraagt de toren uit doormiddel van een bloktandlijsten, platte natuurstenen banden en een tweede, kleinere rondboogfries. De derde en laatste geleding, waarin zich het waterreservoir bevindt, heeft een vlakke gevel waarin op regelmatige afstand staande zesruitsvensters zijn gezet. Oorspronkelijk bezat de toren kantelen als beëindiging maar deze zijn in 1959 wegens slechte bouwkundige staat verwijderd. Op het dak is een eenvoudige ijzeren reling gezet die buiten de rijksbescherming valt.
Het cilindervormige waterreservoir in de toren is van ijzer en heeft een vlakke bodem.
Waardering
De watertoren is van architectuurhistorische waarde als voorbeeld van een bouwtype, alsmede van ensemble waarde in relatie met het ernaast liggende pomphuisje.

A WATER TOWER located at some distance from the public road, built in 1902-1903 on an artificial earthen elevation to the design of the firm Visser & Smit. The tower has a cylindrical form that tapers. The tower is constructed in brick with natural stone accents. The tower shaft consists of three sections. The entrance is located on the Woestduinlaan side and is formed by an outbuilding under a gabled roof. The front of this has been given a projecting spout gable form. On the central axis a simple door with a round-arched fanlight is set. Above the door is a foundation stone with the text: `The first stone laid by...(illegible), 9 November 1902'. The first section of the tower shaft is terminated by means of a wide natural stone, projecting band. Above this the tall central part of the shaft is provided at various points with small round-arched windows. The second section is terminated by a round-arched frieze. Above this the tower projects by means of a toothed band, flat natural stone bands and a second, smaller round-arched frieze. The third and final section, in which the water reservoir is located, has a flat facade in which six-light windows are placed at regular intervals. Originally the tower had crenellations as a termination but these were removed in 1959 due to poor structural condition. On the roof is a simple iron railing which falls outside the national monument protection.
The cylindrical iron water reservoir in the tower has a flat bottom.
Valuation
The water tower is of architectural-historical value as an example of a building type, as well as of ensemble value in relation to the adjacent pump house.
